Euthanized Dog Reportedly Found With Large Holes in Body After Boarding at Vet Deserves Justice

Target: Williamson County, Texas Attorney Doyle Hobbs Jr.

Goal: Give veterinarian who allegedly allowed animals to be boarded in filthy conditions prison sentence and do not allow her to continue practicing.

An English bulldog, named Jax, allegedly had to be euthanized after it was reported he developed serious sores all over his body while he was being boarded at a local veterinary clinic. Dr. Dana R. Boehm, the veterinarian who owns the practice, needs to spend time in prison if it is determined that this innocent animal died because he did not receive proper care while staying at her facility.

Jax’s owners claimed that some of the sores found on his body had penetrated through his skin. He was also reportedly covered in urine and was not able to walk when they picked him up. Although Jax’s owners rushed him to another veterinary hospital to immediately get help, Jax’s injuries were allegedly so severe he had to be euthanized. After the alleged incident took place, authorities thoroughly searched the veterinary hospital and reportedly found feces and urine everywhere as well as clothes dripping in urine. Not only were the animals allegedly being housed in these dirty conditions, they were also said not to be provided with adequate food or water.

Although the animals were returned to their owners and Dr. Dana R. Boehm turned herself in to the police, Boehm was released on bail. Sign this petition to demand she be required to spend a long time behind bars and that she no longer be allowed to continue practicing as a veterinarian to better ensure other pets will be safe if she is found guilty of these horrific crimes.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear County Attorney Hobbs Jr.,

Dr. Dana Boehm was recently arrested after it was allegedly discovered that a healthy English bulldog, named Jax, had to be euthanized after being under her care. Dr. Boehm should not only be given the maximum amount of time in prison, but she should also get her veterinary license revoked if it is found that any animals died as a result of neglect.

Surveillance cameras appear to show that Jax was healthy when he was dropped off at the veterinary clinic. However, when his owners picked him up, they reportedly saw that Jax had a bunch of painful sores all over his body and that many of those sores had poked holes in his skin, some were apparently deep enough to expose bone or tendons. Although Jax was taken to get medical help at another nearby clinic, it was the opinion of the second veterinarian that he was suffering so badly, Jax had to be euthanized. When officials searched the building, they reported finding syringes that were not properly sealed, clothes that were soaked in urine, and a massive amount of waste that had not been cleaned up. Additionally, it was said that none of the animals boarding at the facility had been given sufficient water or food.

While it is good news that no other animals had to be euthanized and that they were all safely returned to their owners, Dr. Dana R. Boehm should also no longer be allowed to practice veterinary medicine, and she should be given the longest prison sentence possible if it is found she is responsible for Jax’s death, or for any other animals suffering while under her care.

Sincerely,

It is horrifying a vet cannot be trusted to take good care of an animal in their
    facility.

    • Nicole Taylor says:

Not only did this happen to this dog but this “vet” has committed theft more than once and has numerous bad reviews posted for her clinic. Just google her. Her license was still active as of Friday. She needs to be suspended now!

  2. Victoria De Lange says:

Appalling and shocking for a vet to inflict animal cruelty. Please ensure this vet is held to account

  3. It is indeed a disgrace that pet parents put their trust in this veterinarian only to be bamboozeled by her greed and incompetence. She definitely needs to have her license revoked and to serve jail time!

I am sorry for JAX and any other creatures that suffered at her incapable hands.

  4. POS NAME IS OUT THERE.

  5. Texas has a real animal welfare problem and this woman getting away with this (and more) is proof that they need reform and they need it now. The laws in Texas to protect animals are very lax and rarely enforced, that needs to stop and they an start by taking away this losers license and putting her where she belongs – jail. SMH

  6. This VETERINARIAN NEEDS TO HAVE HER LICENSE REVOKED AND NEVER BE REINSTATED FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE!! She should NEVER be allowed to OWN, ADOPT, AND BE NEAR ANY ANIMALS FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE!!!

    • Evan Jane Kriss says:

Agreed! AND, ALL animals in her possession, at her place of work and at her home, must be IMMEDIATELY SEIZED. Further, she should be MADE TO PAY ALL VET BILLS to restore any surviving animals to full health.

  7. Texas didn’t invent animal cruelty, non-existent animal protection legislation or lax enforcement but, they lead the country in every conceivable form of animal torture. The facility should be shuttered and the owners punished to the fullest extent of the law but, the dog’s owner is responsible for leaving their dog without inspecting the environment. We need stronger cruelty laws, stronger enforcement and accountability for EVERYONE who failed this dog. The ignorance and irresponsibly of the owner(s) is also responsible for this. Likely HUNDREDS of people saw and had an opportunity to DO SOMETHING!!!!!

  8. Disgusting to say the least. You pay someone to care for your pet and this happens. Sickening.

  9. vets are smart-but the blood money HUNGRY VETS ARE GREEDY FOR THE MONEY DESPITE THE POOR ANIMALS SUFFERING–TAKE AWAY HER LICENSE AND FINE HER LARGER FINES AND LONGER JAIL TIME-PET PARENTS SUE THIS EVIL VET ALSO.

  10. The sores with puncture holes seem suspect. Did the vet or someone working there inflict the holes? How long was this pet there that he got this bad? The whole situation is criminal and sad. She needs to pay for every harmful act and neglectful suffering she caused to the pets that were in her care. She is a disgrace as a human being.

  11. Anyone remember that female vet pictured holding an arrow with an orange cat dangling at the end? He was shot through the head, and she was smiling.
I can’t imagine anyone going into veterinary medicine who would hurt an animal on purpose. I think neglect is purposeful.

  12. Nadine brundage says:

More Texas animal cruelty and by a veterinarian no less. This evil bitch needs her license revoked and jail time for cruelty. This being Texas and with no animal protection laws I’m sure nothing will be done. If that were my pet I’d get a lawyer to make sure she’s not practicing ever. Plaster her name from here to kingdom come so others are aware of this nut job.

  13. Absolutely repulsive and criminal behavior! This so-called vet should spend the maximum time behind bars!

  14. She should never be allowed to be a vet. Let her live in filth! Her ass belongs in jail. That poor poochie died in her care. Take away her vet license for life.

  15. This world is flooded with these POS psychopaths. All the abuse to animals and children is rampant!! Laws need to change. These animals don’t deserve this, they’re abused, tortured, killed it’s mad sickening

  16. This is Bet! She needs her license revoked and imprisoned in the same condition she has those poor, innocent, unsuspecting dogs.

  17. Rose Coffey says:

RIP Jax and my deepest sympathy to your owners. It is horrible to realize that someone would treat animals in this manner, much less a veterinarian who is supposed to help us pet parents keep our babies as long as possible and in good health while we have them. Boehm gives legitimate and caring veterinarians a bad name; most definitely she needs to be prosecuted to the very fullest extent possible.

  18. Michael Castoldi says:

This is outrageous!!! If this isn’t taking proper care of the animals then she should be euthanized too!!! RIP Jax

  19. What is up with Texas and their vets? First you have the monster who shot a cat through the head with an arrow, and now this. Shame on Texas! You need to have much more accountability for pet caregivers. This is horrible, and this person should be stripped of her ability to ever go near an animal again. Lock her up for good, and take away her veterinary license.

  20. If jax was my dog that lowlife vet would never see the light of day.
