A young male Lurcher was found dead on a rural grass verge along Moor Lane in Higher Kinnerton. The approximately three-year-old dog was wearing a distinctive heavy black collar decorated with silver, bone-shaped metal studs and an unengraved name tag. A postmortem examination indicated that he had suffered severe soft-tissue trauma and advanced nutritional neglect before his body was discovered.
No suspect has been identified. Investigators recovered a microchip and traced the dog’s registration history to two previous owners in North Wales. Both confirmed that they had legally rehomed him as a puppy. Investigators have therefore been unable to establish who was responsible for the dog during the period immediately preceding his death.
Investigators believe the dog’s body may have been transported by vehicle and dumped along the verge during late-night hours. Authorities are appealing for dashcam recordings, smart-doorbell footage, and information from anyone who recognizes the distinctive bone-studded collar. Every viable lead should be pursued to reconstruct this dog’s final days, identify whoever was responsible for him, and determine whether animal cruelty or unlawful abandonment occurred.
