Goal: Resolve and prosecute case involving puppy caged in and killed by deadly cold.
With record-setting cold and winter weather hitting many parts of the United States, cases of temperature-related animal cruelty are unfortunately on the rise. In New York, a woman accused of leaving a dog ziplocked in below-zero weather is facing animal torture charges. Also in New York, a man allegedly left his dog out overnight in extremely cold weather, which reportedly caused the animal to develop frostbite. This man was likewise arrested.
Two troubling cases emerged in North Carolina as well. In an incident from Charlotte, two dogs were reportedly tethered outdoors in the wake of a brutal winter storm. The dogs allegedly had no access to food or water. While the dogs were seized and apparently forfeited by their owner, no pending charges were mentioned in reporting. And in Greenville, an investigation is ongoing after a months-old puppy was tragically found dead inside a snow-covered cage on a street corner. The puppy was frozen solid and in such a horrific state that the poor animal could not even be properly identified.
Given the seeming lack of legal action in the other North Carolina case, sign the petition below to urge prosecutors to fully pursue felony animal cruelty charges when a suspect is identified in the Greenville case.

Dear DA Dixon,
“If someone will leave an animal out like this, just imagine what they might do to a person that you may trust.” The Greenville supervisor for animal protective services had this sobering message after local residents found a small puppy frozen to death inside of a cage. The supervisor has pointed out a major reason why this disturbing case needs full legal attention and justice.
A suspect has not yet been identified, but with the public’s help justice can be attained. If and when an arrest is made, please pursue maximum felony cruelty charges under North Carolina law. This innocent living being should have never met such a brutal and terrifying end.

Why wasint this puppy that was trapped in this “Cage of Death “, been noticed by passengers in cars , or people passing by the area. Many Animals have been rescued, by people calling the police, to rescue the poor animal, even willing to give it a home! So, no one noticed this??? The piece of human TRASH that did this, will be caught, & prosecuted to the fullest intent of the law! NO BAIL! to kill again!! To those COLD-Hearted Dirty Bastards, who saw this animal stuck in a freezing cage, & didn’t even call police or get help, Had better PRAY, that their homes are not wrecked & freeze to DEATH! Or get Evicted to the freezing cold!!’

This is so frustrating that way too many people are getting away without any charges from our judicial system or they will not bring severe charges to those involved in animal cruelty, abuse, torture, etc. Things will never ever change unless there are laws on the books with judges willing to put their foot down to stop these disgusting acts of violence against animals which as we know sadly moves on to assaulting children etc. You have the power to make laws change laws enforce laws so why are so many walking away? This has got to end no animals should ever be the the one to suffer torture, beatings, starvation, rape on and on!
