Starving Animals and Carcasses Reportedly Found Amid Filth: Demand Justice

Target: Hon. Robert A. Evans, District Attorney, Seventh Prosecutorial District of North Carolina

Goal: Seek the maximum lawful sentence, a lifetime ban on animal ownership, restitution, and court-ordered counseling after deputies allegedly found 35 starving animals with dead pets and skeletal remains on site.

Deputies reportedly arrived at a Nash County home and discovered 35 ill animals with extensive trash in the yard, dead animals in pens, and skeletal remains from decomposed animals. Officers also said the scene posed clear welfare concerns for a child who was later placed in protective care. The resident faces dozens of counts of animal cruelty by starvation alongside a child abuse charge. These allegations paint a harrowing picture of prolonged neglect that demands decisive action.

Authorities further reported that some animals were so malnourished that bones were visible. The setting was allegedly strewn with filth and carcasses which suggests extended suffering. Investigators say the animals are now in safe custody yet will require significant care.

A strong response is essential to deter copycats and protect the community. Appropriate sentencing should include the longest lawful term, a lifetime prohibition on owning or controlling animals, strict no-contact orders, mandatory mental-health evaluation, and full restitution for veterinary and shelter costs. These measures are necessary to safeguard animals and reinforce that alleged cruelty will face real consequences.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Evans,

We respectfully urge your office to pursue the strongest possible prosecution and sentencing in the Nash County case where deputies allegedly found 35 starving animals along with dead animals and skeletal remains on the property. The allegations indicate sustained deprivation and extreme suffering which calls for an unequivocal legal response.

If the evidence substantiates these charges, we ask that you seek the maximum lawful sentence, a lifetime ban on owning or controlling animals, no-contact conditions, and comprehensive mental-health counseling. We further request full restitution to cover emergency care, rehabilitation, and ongoing shelter expenses reputedly incurred because of this case. Such terms protect the public and send a clear deterrent message.

This petition asks your office to prioritize accountability consistent with North Carolina law and the gravity of the alleged facts. Thank you for your continued efforts to secure justice for victims who cannot speak for themselves.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
