Dozens of Animals Found Starving Beside Decomposing Bodies on a Rural Property — Demand Felony Accountability

Target: Philip Strom, Prosecuting Attorney, Delta County, Michigan

Goal: Prosecute every individual accused of neglecting dozens of animals and causing multiple others to die on the property.

Investigators executing a court-authorized search warrant reportedly found a devastating scene at a rural property. The bodies of multiple animals, including cats, rabbits, pigs, and goats, were apparently left decomposing in open areas, while 27 surviving animals struggled to stay alive. Humane officers reported that many of the rescued animals were suffering from severe emaciation, untreated infections, and prolonged malnutrition requiring immediate veterinary intervention. Authorities removed the surviving animals from the property.

Prosecutors filed felony and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges against three individuals. Investigators also allege one defendant resisted arrest and assaulted a law enforcement officer during the execution of the warrant. Each defendant has appeared in court and remains subject to ongoing criminal proceedings, while the rescued animals continue receiving care.

This case appears to reflect a pattern of prolonged neglect affecting an extraordinary number of animals. Every domesticated animal depends entirely on human caregivers for food, water, shelter, and medical attention. Apparently allowing so many animals to deteriorate while others died demands a legal response that matches the scale of what investigators reportedly found.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prosecuting Attorney Strom,

The facts alleged in this investigation have deeply disturbed animal welfare advocates. Investigators report that dozens of animals were left without adequate care while multiple others died and remained on the property, as survivors struggled with starvation, infection, and severe physical deterioration.

Your office now has the responsibility to pursue a complete and impartial prosecution based on veterinary findings, forensic evidence, witness testimony, and all other admissible evidence.

Please ensure that every individual accused of this horrific abuse is prosecuted under the fullest provisions of Michigan law. Meaningful accountability will help deter similar tragedies.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
