Hundreds of Chickens Allegedly Left to Suffocate: Demand Maximum Penalties

Target: Frédéric Teillet, Public Prosecutor, Rennes, France

Goal: Pursue maximum lawful penalties against individuals accused of transporting hundreds of chickens in conditions that caused mass suffering and death.

A large-scale animal welfare investigation intensified after authorities intercepted a commercial poultry transport vehicle following reports of severe livestock distress. Officers reportedly discovered more than eight hundred chickens confined inside damaged and poorly ventilated transport crates.

Investigators believe the transport operation may have been delayed for many hours without adequate access to water, ventilation, or protection from high temperatures. Veterinary inspectors reportedly determined that a substantial portion of the birds had already died and showed signs consistent with heat exposure and asphyxiation. Authorities detained individuals connected to the transport while reviewing company records and shipment documentation.

Animal welfare advocates argue that commercial efficiency must never override minimum standards of humane treatment. If substantiated, these allegations would represent large-scale suffering inflicted upon animals during commercial transit. Appropriate prosecution and oversight are necessary if supported by evidence.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prosecutor Teillet,

Authorities have made allegations involving hundreds of chickens transported in damaged crates without adequate ventilation or hydration.

Inspectors reportedly documented mass fatalities and initiated review of shipping records and operating procedures connected to the incident. Veterinary teams assisted surviving birds after emergency intervention.

We urge your office to pursue the strongest lawful penalties available against any individuals or entities found responsible if the evidence supports prosecution.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
