Justice for Dogs Reportedly Found Severely Malnourished and Surrounded in Feces

Target: John P. Doyle, State’s Attorney for New Haven County, CT

Goal: Hold those responsible for the alleged severe cruelty and neglect of multiple dogs accountable.

A recent case of alleged severe animal cruelty in Seymour is nothing short of heartbreaking. A concerned individual contacted authorities after witnessing the conditions of two dogs, one of whom—a young puppy—had reportedly succumbed to malnourishment and neglect. Responding officers say they discovered both an 11-month-old Cane Corso and a Corgi in a state of extreme emaciation, with the Cane Corso covered in feces. Tragically, despite swift intervention, the puppy did not survive, and a necropsy seemingly revealed significant evidence of chronic neglect.

Further investigation unveiled that both dogs were reportedly in “starvation mode,” indicating a prolonged period of inadequate care. Erica Kyttle and Wilfredo Lebron, the owners of the dogs, have faced charges of cruelty to animals and conspiracy to commit animal cruelty. Kyttle was released on a $5,000 bond, while Lebron remains in custody. These allegations raise serious concerns about the accountability of those who neglect the welfare of animals in their care. Appropriate punishment must be pursued to prevent future cruelty and reflect the severity of these alleged actions.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Doyle,

The case involving Erica Kyttle and Wilfredo Lebron, who are facing charges of cruelty to animals and conspiracy to commit animal cruelty, underscores a deeply concerning issue within the community regarding animal welfare. The allegations state that their two dogs were found in a horrifically malnourished state, with one puppy tragically dying as a consequence of apparent neglect. The images from this incident are disturbing, suggesting dogs that were emaciated and in dire need of medical care.

As reported, the Cane Corso was observed covered in feces, highlighting the distressing conditions in which these animals were forced to live. Even the surviving Corgi is reportedly recovering from severe malnourishment, indicating a life-threatening level of neglect. This situation warrants a strong response, as allowing such actions to go unpunished only sends the message that animal cruelty can be tolerated.

Therefore, it is essential that the court impose appropriate and stringent penalties on those responsible for this egregious mistreatment of innocent animals. Such measures are necessary to ensure justice for the suffering dogs and to deter others from inflicting similar harm in the future.

Sincerely,
