Hundreds of Rabbits Who Allegedly Endured Broken Bones, Missing Limbs, and Starvation Deserve Justice

Target: Rich Goldinger, District Attorney for Butler County, PA

Goal: Prosecute animal cruelty case involving 130-plus live survivors and 160 dead alleged victims to fullest extent.

Skeletons, syphilis, missing limbs, broken backs and necks, and “loaded with parasites”: these horrific conditions were used to describe the state of hundreds of rabbits found in a Pennsylvania home. In all, nearly 300 rabbits were rescued from filthy cages reportedly lacking any access to food or water. Even more tragically, about 160 of the rabbits had passed away, presumably from their living conditions.

Dozens of the rabbits have recovered and been put up for adoption, but their story cannot end here. Wendy Czapski was charged with 142 counts of neglect. Yet for the alleged deaths and near-deaths of hundreds of rabbits, she only faced one count of aggravated animal cruelty. And her court hearings have already been delayed once because she was reportedly “nervous.”

Sign the petition below to demand prosecutors seek more stringent charges against a suspect who allegedly oversaw a real-life house of horrors.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Goldinger,

“Anytime there are live animals that are forced to live with dead animals, I think, to me, that just describes — defines, hell.” An animal shelter spokesperson that helped oversee the care of hundreds of rabbits reportedly rescued from Wendy Czapski’s residence aptly summarized the case against this suspect. This woman’s alleged negligence and abuse reportedly led to the deaths of 160 rabbits. Why did the horrific accusations against her (which included broken necks and backs and missing limbs) only merit one count of aggravated animal cruelty?

Please exercise due diligence and pursue charges and punishments that reflect the true gravity of this heinous alleged crime.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. This woman is a monster! She needs to feel the pain of her torture. The break bones, broken backs, missing limbs and do all the other unthinkable horrid acts to animals makes Wendy not a person who is sane. Insanity requires being placed in a facility for long term or life, but not placed back into society. We don’t want her. We obey the laws of society, she never will. I can’t imagine feeling the pain she caused to innocent animals. Why? That’s the problem. These assholes do whatever they want and expect to get off free of charge. NO! She has as more felonies than Trump! We won’t allow her to do more damage. She MUST be locked up and out of society, NOW!

  2. Her day in court is postponed because the cruel bitch is NERVOUS? What about the state of mind of the rabbits? Screw her. I hope she get years in prison, not a few days in jail with a measly fine.
