Success: Vet Accused of Shooting Cat With Bow and Arrow has License Suspended

Target: Dr. Roland Lenarduzzi, President, Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners

Goal: Praise suspension of license for vet who allegedly shot a feral cat through the head with a bow and arrow and bragged about it on social media.

Kristen Lindsey, a veterinarian who caused an international uproar after allegedly killing a feral cat with a bow and arrow, will be unable to practice veterinary medicine for a year. She started a scandal after posting a photo of herself holding a dead cat, shot through the head with an arrow. The caption said “The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through its head.” Thanks to massive backlash, including over 700 formal complaints, written comments from 77 countries, and more than 27,000 emails about her actions, and a ForceChange petition received by the veterinary licensing board, she will finally face consequences for her alleged actions.

Immediately following the incident, she was fired from her job at a Texas veterinary clinic. This most recent ruling dictates that not only will she be unable to practice veterinary medicine for one year, Lindsey will also be placed on probation for four years afterward. During this time, she will be subject to extra scrutiny and surprise inspections by the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. She will also be required to perform 100 hours of community service before her license is reinstated.

This type of barbaric cruelty cannot be tolerated from anyone, let alone a veterinary professional. By suspending Lindsey’s license, the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners is taking a tough stance against animal cruelty. Sign the petition below to applaud the suspension of Mrs. Lindsey’s license as well as the conditions of her reinstatement.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Lenarduzzi,

Veterinarian Kristen Lindsey recently had her veterinary license suspended for one year for allegedly killing a feral cat with a bow and arrow. A post on her now-deleted Facebook page appeared to show her holding the corpse of a dead cat with an arrow through its head, coupled wit h the caption “The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through its head.”

This type of cruelty is absolutely unacceptable, especially from someone who works so closely with animals. By suspending her license, you are showing other veterinarians that animal cruelty is taken seriously by the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. We, the undersigned, praise you for ensuring that this cruelty is properly dealt with.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. One year is not good enough, she needs to lose her license for good. She needs to ROT IN HELL.

  2. Won’t be signing this ! How on earth can you think a year is long enough??? She will be treating cats again in the future and she obviously hates them !! Shameful she should be banned for life ! Evil bitch

  3. Andrew Elder says:

Not signing either, this is a slap on a wrist

  4. I agree with both comments and I won’t be signing it either. She is disgusting filth who shouldn’t be allowed near animals again and in fact should have been jailed for animal cruelty. I hope NOBODY ever takes an animal to her again.

  5. One year is barely a slap on the wrist, not enough to wipe that stupid smile off her sicko face. Meanwhile, she can take revenge on more animals and after a year return to her well-paid job. Her name and deed should be publicized so that she have no clients ever again. Let her make a living cleaning toilets.

  6. Michele Shank says:

Not signing this petition. This is not success. She should NEVER be allowed to practice veterinary medicine again! That would be success.

  7. I did sign because at least something was done , however, I also agree that because she is a vegetarian that is suppose to help animals and she bragged about killing an innocent animal which is against what her license is suppose to be for dhe really needs to go to jail and lose her license for lifetime . It is terrible when a person tat is not a doctor does terrible acts like this and should be punished , but when a doctor does this it is actually worse because of her status. All animal abusers need to be punished fior abuse like it done to a human . We have no right to torture animals as they have a right ti life also and when these people torture animals that cannot speak for themselves the next victim will be humans

    • WHAT does saying she is a vegetarian (if its true!) have to do with what she did?

She DELIBERATELY KILLED an elderly couple’s pet cat, who others have said she KNEW by sight…….

Being or saying she is a vegetarian doesn’t make ANYTHING about who she is, or what she did, right.

  8. I’m not signing this because something was done, I think she should have gotten a way harsher punishment and made an example of! Somebody should put an arrow through the head of this worthless so called veterinarian whose a complete disgrace to the real animal caretakers.
I can’t believe she only got a 1 year suspension that is a laughing joke. She should have her license revoked forever for violating the Hippocratic oath, human or animal the goal is not to make them endure more pain or suffering to their well being. She failed and bragged about it and were supposed to think her lousy punishment meant something for Texas. Someone needs to make an example with a more impactable punishment to show this behavior is never tolerated, it’s completely disgusting. May this bitch rot in hell with all the other animal abusers, ROT I say!

  9. Cynthia Mattera says:

She took an oath to help save animals. What she did to that poor cat was disgusting! It should not matter if he was a stray or a family pet. SHE KILLED HIM!!!! She should NEVER be able to practice medicine again. I sure would not bring my pets to her clinic!!! She should be in jail!

    • Unfortunately, there will many people who will NOT know who she is, or what she did…..they will unknowingly bring their beloved pet cats to her for treatment…..how can the licensing board have suspended her sentence for ONE YEAR…..a JOKE!!! INFURIATING!

      • You’re absolutely right. While she practiced in TX, her alma mater is the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She could still practice THERE, or anywhere else, as this suspension only applies to Texas! In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if she already IS setting up to practice somewhere else, and not everyone knows about her vile deed and ‘heart,’ or what she looks like.

  10. Later reports disclosed it was a neighbors pet! He had a name and was loved. That egotistical heartless lowlife should NOT be allowed to work with animals. She has a perverted since of value. Do no harm!!!!!

  11. Funny, as awful as this act is, it is no worse than any other animal being killed. But a cat makes it worse somehow to people. Deer and bears get shot with bows and arrows all the time, and we eat 98% of domesticated species.

    • No, Jenna, I certainly don’t condone shooting ANY animals, wild or “domesticated” nor believe it’s right to eat other species since we DON’T HAVE TO, to live and thrive.

What’s “worse” about it is this POS took an OATH on behalf of HELPING animals, not killing them as the “vermin” she thinks they are! She’s just another one of the many psychopaths running around out there, but in a HELPING profession, no less! People don’t take their ‘pets’ to hunters or slaughterhouse workers to help them get well. THAT’S the difference here. That said, KL is ALSO a known hunter of OTHER animals as well. So it now behooves everyone to ask their own vet outright, if they hunt wildlife, and if they do, GO FIND ANOTHER VET WHOSE VALUES ALIGN BETTER!!!!

    • Gillian Miller says:

Jenna, we shouldn’t be eating meat but hunting is far worse. For a vet to shoot someone’s pet goes against a vet’s duty to ensure their welfare. In other words, they are required to REPORT ABUSE not cause it.

  12. This vile bitch needs to be banned from being a vet.I would love to hear that this POS has been killed.

  13. Cecily Colloby says:

I’m certainly NOT thanking the half-wit who gave this barbaric and evil woman a mere ONE year suspension!! She should be struck off for ever-better still she should be shot through the head with a cross bow and got rid of so no unsuspecting pet owners ever risk the safety of their animals by taking them to her for treatment. This is the same as giving a Doctor a one year suspension for murdering a patient!! Just shows how little importance some members of the human race (namely those who deal out “justice”) place on the life of an animal, doesn’t it?

  14. masayuki tanaka says:

We should shell “it” a barrage of arrows, I am sure this “noble” bitch would like it!

  15. no license to work with animals forever now. this turd needs nothing now.

  16. Sandra Zaninovich says:

Instead of signing something that congratulates her for getting a slap on the wrist for brutally murdering an innocent animal (as one of my own precious kitties sits purring and kneading on my lap), I think I’m going to go throw up at the absurdity that someone would start a petition thinking this was something good that happened.

  17. Kenneth Green says:

No way would I thank that bozo board president for only imposing a one-year suspension on that sicko vet. Disgusting. She should have her license revoked permanently and be prohibited from ever owning an animal or working with them in any capacity. I think she is a danger to the community and I fear for her children if she ever has any. She is a sadist–pure and simple. My vet agrees with me on this!

    • Kenneth Green says:

To Moderator: There’s no libel in my above statement in that I did not name the individuals about whom I commented.

      • No, she has no kids (yet). But there IS (or was?) a DOG in the family, and she also worked with horses as part of her practice…and her 2nd FB page had lots of RODEO pics (more classic animal abuse/cruelty) as well as hunting/hunter pics.

  18. Gillian Miller says:

The woman that wrote this has no understanding of what happened. A vet is required to ensure that no animal suffers abuse and is required to report it. To actually be the abuser is not only immoral but illegal. As such, she must lose her licence.

    • Exactly. As to the “must,” you’d THINK that would have been a no-brainer, especially considering the massive coverage at the time, even for Texas. But obviously, nope. One has to wonder, just how MANY people were maybe paid off??? (since her family is quite wealthy & “connected”) She’s also now going to appeal even THIS piddly, little ruling, if you can believe it! A total, psychotic sadist and narcissist, imo.

  19. Gen Lovyet Agustsson says:

youre supposed to take care of animals not kill animals

  20. Sandra Zaninovich says:

This call for congratulations should be removed!
