Signs including severe foaming at the mouth raised concerns that toxic agricultural compounds may have been introduced into food sources accessible to community animals in order to intentionally poison the animals. Residents have expressed concern that the poisonings may have been connected to attempts to remove strays outside established legal processes. No suspect has been identified yet.
Authorities must dedicate more resources to this investigation, including continuing forensic testing, identifying responsible parties, and pursuing all lawful accountability measures supported by the evidence.
