Demand Justice for Cats Reportedly Found Dead in Abandoned Home

Target: Kristopher Ellis, District Attorney of Lincoln County, Wisconsin

Goal: Ensure appropriate punishment for the alleged abandonment of 17 cats, including 16 who died.

A man in Merrill, Wisconsin, allegedly abandoned 17 cats in his home, leading to the tragic deaths of 16 of them. The man, Matthew Krautkramer, reportedly admitted to neglecting these animals and did not provide adequate care, leading to horrific living conditions that many would find unthinkable. This shocking case paints a grim picture of the suffering that these animals endured, abandoned without food or water, and left to die in an environment filled with their own waste.

According to the investigation, it was discovered that when officers arrived at Krautkramer’s home, they found at least seven dead cats inside the premises. Further examination suggested that water bowls were empty. Investigators determined that many of the cats had apparently suffered greatly before succumbing to abuse in living conditions described as utterly deplorable, with fecal matter covering both the litter boxes and the floors. This kind of neglect represents not just a failure to care for animals but an outright cruelty that must not go unpunished.

The outcome of Krautkramer’s plea, leading only to a minimal jail sentence and probation, appears insufficient given the severity of the alleged neglect and suffering inflicted on these defenseless animals. It is imperative that the justice system takes firm action against this form of animal cruelty to deter such behavior in the future. Therefore, this petition demands that the District Attorney seeks a more stringent punishment for Matthew Krautkramer.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney,

A man named Matthew Krautkramer allegedly abandoned 17 cats in his home, resulting in the deaths of 16 of them. Investigations suggest that he failed to provide any form of care for the animals, which were reportedly found in horrific conditions, with empty water bowls and filled litter boxes. This act of alleged negligence and cruelty is deeply troubling and must be addressed with the seriousness it deserves.

Krautkramer reportedly admitted to neglecting the cats for an extended period, abandoning them from Thanksgiving onward. The agony seemingly suffered by these animals is indescribable and highlights the urgent need for justice. Sentencing Krautkramer to a mere 32 days in jail does not convey the gravity of the act that reportedly occurred and fails to serve as a deterrent against such cruelty.

Therefore, we urge you to seek an appropriate punishment that reflects the severity of this crime, seeking justice for the animals who suffered in silence. The community must not condone such behavior, and appropriate legal measures must be taken to protect vulnerable animals from neglect and abuse in the future.

Sincerely,
