Hundreds of Cats Allegedly Crushed Into Cages: Demand Justice

Target: Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman, People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Goal: Ensure that all individuals allegedly responsible for operating a massive cat trafficking and processing network and confining hundreds of cats in deadly conditions face the strongest lawful penalties and permanent measures preventing repeat cruelty.

Authorities reportedly uncovered one of the largest feline trafficking operations in recent memory after a criminal investigation led officers to an underground processing compound. Inside, police reportedly found approximately four hundred live domestic cats packed into forty-five industrial cages under suffocating and inhumane conditions. Investigators also reportedly discovered eighty dead cats stored in large ice-filled containers after the animals had either been processed or succumbed to severe transport conditions.

Veterinary teams rushed to rescue surviving animals while many allegedly suffered from heat exhaustion, trauma and prolonged confinement. According to public accounts, some recovered cats were reunited with devastated families whose pets had been stolen.

If the allegations are substantiated through legal proceedings, those responsible should face serious consequences proportionate to the alleged scale of harm. Authorities must pursue accountability and demonstrate that cruelty toward companion animals will not be tolerated.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chairman Duoc,

Reports indicate that investigators uncovered a large-scale operation involving hundreds of domestic cats confined in conditions that may have caused severe suffering and death. Authorities reportedly located approximately four hundred live cats inside crowded industrial cages and recovered eighty deceased felines from storage containers during the same investigation.

We respectfully urge your office to support a full and timely legal process and to ensure that any individuals ultimately found legally responsible receive strong penalties permitted by law. Please also support safeguards and enforcement measures to help prevent any similar alleged trafficking operations in the future.

Sincerely,
