Target: Charles Sams, Director of the National Park Service
Goal: Preserve the Cuyahoga Valley National Park from pollution.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park, one of Ohio’s most cherished natural sanctuaries, is facing an array of environmental threats. From pollution and littering to encroaching development and habitat destruction, the park’s integrity is at risk. The clock is ticking, and we can’t afford to wait any longer.
The park is not just a haven for diverse wildlife; it’s also a vital green lung for the state of Ohio. Its degradation would have far-reaching consequences, affecting air and water quality, as well as the well-being of communities that rely on the park for recreation and livelihood.
Sign the petition to compel the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to enact immediate and effective measures to protect Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Essential actions should include stricter pollution controls, habitat restoration, and community involvement in conservation efforts.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Director Charles Sams,
Cuyahoga Valley National Park, a gem in Ohio’s ecological crown, is under siege. Pollution, unchecked development, and habitat loss are eroding the very essence of this beloved sanctuary. The facts are undeniable: declining wildlife populations, compromised water quality, and a park that’s losing its ability to rejuvenate both nature and people.
We insist on immediate, concrete steps. A holistic, actionable strategy must be rolled out to halt the degradation of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This plan should not just focus on pollution abatement, but also engage local communities in active conservation and habitat restoration efforts.
The stakes are monumental. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is more than a scenic backdrop; it’s a lifeline for Ohio’s environmental and cultural heritage.
We beseech you to act with the urgency that this critical situation demands. Roll out initiatives that will not only halt the park’s degradation, but also ensure its long-term resilience and beauty.
Sincerely,

It seems to me that almost every National Park is under siege. Why? Tax payers pay your salaries for upkeep and management. Is it due to lining your pockets? Animals are being hunted in Parks. Culls are done on animals living in Parks. Plastics are allowed which isn’t a good idea.Tule Elk still are not free even though they are on their own land. Ranchers are in control, not rangers. Stop the park’s degradation while ensuring long term resilience. It’s not just about stopping pollution, it’s about community being active in conservation and habitat restoration efforts. The sooner this is accomplished, the better!
