Protect Vital Wildlife Habitats By Limiting Livestock Grazing on Public Lands

Target: Mark Bowen, Chairman of the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality

Goal: Implement sustainable practices to reduce the environmental impact of livestock grazing on Idaho’s public lands.

Livestock grazing on Idaho’s public lands has raised significant environmental concerns. Overgrazing and inadequate land management practices have led to soil erosion, degradation of water quality, and the loss of critical wildlife habitat. These issues threaten the long-term health and sustainability of precious public lands.

Idaho’s public lands are vital to the state’s natural beauty and biodiversity. However, the current state of livestock grazing has put these resources at risk. Erosion from overgrazing harms the integrity of the landscapes and damages important watersheds. Additionally, excessive grazing can lead to the spread of invasive plant species, further exacerbating the problem.

These environmental challenges have far-reaching consequences, affecting both the natural ecosystem and the communities that depend on these lands for various recreational and economic activities.

Sign the petition below to demand that the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality takes immediate action to implement sustainable land management practices for livestock grazing on public lands. It is essential to protect the environment, preserve biodiversity, and ensure the long-term health of these invaluable resources.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chairman Bowen,

We write to express deep concern about the adverse environmental effects of livestock grazing on Idaho’s public lands. These lands are not only essential for the preservation of biodiversity and wildlife, but also play a crucial role in supporting recreational and economic activities within the communities.

The current state of livestock grazing practices poses a grave threat to these invaluable resources. Overgrazing has led to soil erosion, degraded water quality, and the loss of critical wildlife habitats. The consequences of these issues are far-reaching, impacting both the ecosystems and the people who rely on these lands for their livelihoods.

We urge you to take swift and decisive action to implement sustainable land management practices for livestock grazing on Idaho’s public lands. By doing so, you can help protect the environment, preserve the diverse wildlife that calls these lands home, and ensure the long-term health and sustainability of these vital resources.

Sincerely,

  1. Please put up a sign saying … GET OFF PUBLIC LAND! Why are cattle ranchers afford use of public lands to graze their cattle? Are they paying off the correct officials? Why do tax payers pay for National Park upkeep and employee Park Rangers if this is all we are receiving from our Public Lands. There’s graft in them there hills! This needs to stop but so far everyone is getting away with it and it won’t come to light until we have ruined the soil, used up all habitats, killed off most animals in parks. Why? There countries have limits on days per week when one can eat meat, fish, poultry with the others falling to pasta, salads, and meatless dishes of which there are many. No one suffers but the animals will be saved and humans will live better. Why should a few criminals deplete all of this for their cattle. Throw them in prison but soon as they are taking over every decent place Americans have. The difference they aren’t paying taxes or paying for their own land. Arrest these creeps.
