A pigeon suffered devastating injuries near Quakers Yard railway station in Treharris after five young males allegedly threw the living bird back and forth through the air. According to a witness account provided to the RSPCA, a local dog walker saw the mistreatment and intervened, recovering the injured pigeon and seeking emergency assistance.
RSPCA Deputy Chief Inspector Gemma Black collected the bird and arranged veterinary treatment. Examination reportedly revealed a severely fractured wing and significant injuries.
