Young Dog Found Decomposing on Roadside: Uncover What Happened

Target: Amanda Blakeman, Chief Constable, North Wales, UK

Goal: Establish how a young Lurcher died and came to be dumped beside a rural road, and pursue appropriate legal action if cruelty, neglect or unlawful abandonment is established.

A young black Lurcher dog was found dead beside Moor Lane in Kinnerton, near the England-Wales border. The male dog, who would have turned three in October, was still wearing a distinctive black collar decorated with metal bone-shaped studs, a blank name tag and blue rope. His remains were badly decomposed when a dog walker discovered him. The RSPCA said the circumstances suggested that his body had been dumped.

No suspect has been identified, and the cause of the dog’s death remains unknown. Decomposition was too advanced for investigators to establish precisely how he died. His microchip, however, provided an important investigative trail. The RSPCA traced two previous keepers in North Wales. Both said they had rehomed the dog, leaving investigators attempting to identify the person who subsequently took ownership.

The distinctive collar and blue rope could help someone recognize this dog and reveal where he spent his final days. Anyone who knows who most recently cared for him, or who witnessed suspicious activity around Moor Lane, could provide vital information. Authorities must establish how his remains reached the roadside and pursue meaningful legal consequences if evidence reveals wrongdoing.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Constable Blakeman,

A young Lurcher’s badly decomposed body was discovered beside a rural road in circumstances the RSPCA considers suspicious. His cause of death could not be established because of the condition of his remains. The RSPCA said the circumstances suggested that his body had been dumped.

No individual has been identified as responsible for any wrongdoing. The dog’s microchip led investigators to two previous keepers, but both said they had rehomed him. Please support efforts to identify his subsequent keeper, reconstruct his final days and establish how his body came to be left beside Moor Lane.

If evidence ultimately demonstrates cruelty, neglect, unlawful abandonment or another offense, ensure that those proven responsible face appropriate legal consequences. Until then, investigators should follow the evidence without presuming how this dog died or who may have been responsible. A young animal ended up decomposing anonymously beside a country road. His death deserves answers.

Sincerely,
