Stop Using Exotic Animal Skins for Handbags and Watches

Target: Axel Dumas, Executive Chairman of Hermès

Goal: Stop the use of alligator skin, and the materials from other exotic animals, in the production of luxury watches and bags.

Many luxury brands rely on exotic animal skins for the straps of handbags, watches, and more. Such procedures reduce the populations of exotic animals everywhere, and buyers of such products have begun to request animal-free products. Typically, alligators are used in luxury products because of their flat, scaly skin. With Hermès specifically, the once animal-using brand now relies on non-leather materials to make some of its watches. As the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) sent a letter to Dumas regarding the use of crocodile skins in bags, it’s time to resort to a completely animal-free method of producing luxury products.

Sign this petition to demand luxury companies stop using animals in their products. It’s unethical for innocent animals to be slaughtered for consumer products. Demand change immediately.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Dumas,

Please stop the use of crocodiles and other exotic animals in the making of bags. As watches are now in many cases made out of humane non-leather materials, it’s time for other products to be animal-free. This practice is unjust since innocent animals are losing their lives at the hands of luxury products.

It’s time to stop animal populations from dwindling. Customers are already opting for animal-free products, so there’s no reason to continue selling them. We demand animals not be utilized in any further luxury products. We appreciate your attention to this message.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

Fuckin disgusting. What sort of ppl want that stuff? They’re sick. Vile. Fgs just leave animals alone.

  3. People who buy this stuff should be made to watch from how these animals are kept or caught, how they die in agony and be made to do it themselves. When their hands and souls are covered in blood it might not seem like a luxury item.

  4. sick people buy this garbage torture for animals

  5. The rich must buy things or depression sets in. They buy boats and that is more insult to the environment yet the most stupid part is they are in competition with one another. Who has the biggest or most impressive boat. It’s a game to them but the earth is not a game. People are not just living on earth to do their bidding. These fashion houses are out houses in my opinion. They know how much they hurt the animals and how much they take from the earth but the true disservice is they do not give back. The rich are mostly ignorant, selfish, greedy, do nothing people. That’s all they have to offer.

I agree with you 1000 percent. However, people like Taylor Swift gives her money away to food banks and animal charities. Animal rescue i volunteered with for many years got much needed funds.

  6. Shirley Lemieux says:

I strongly support and agree with this petition. No animal on this planet should lose their life for the purpose of using their body parts in fashion.

  7. Maria Lavorato says:

Many luxury brands rely on exotic animal skins for the straps of handbags, watches etc. BEYOND ALL COMPREHENSION!

This should be STOPPED globally immediately with serious charges for sellers and buyers. THERE SHOULD BE LEGAL REPERCUSSIONS IN PLACE THAT ARE ENFORCED! SHUT THEM ALL DOWN! Anyone making/buying these luxury items knows full well the blood involved. YOU ARE ALL MONSTERS!

There is no need for these places as more and more people are demanding cruelty/animal free products!

  8. Brenda Dumont says:

Every person who enjoys stripping the skin off a being is not only a disgusting a**hole!! Someday when they die I hope if there a hell I hope they get tortured every day!!! Miserable excuse for a human!!

  9. Gilda Provenzano says:

    “STOP this EXTREME ENVIRONMENTAL CRIME!!!!”
THIS CRUEL EXTREMELY EVIL ACT UPON INNOCENT ANIMALS “MUST STOP NOW”!!!!

  15. Totally a disgusting practice to kill innocent animals when you can get good quality faux items now. The people who buy these real animal products are just as guilty ad the manufacturers and the murderers!

  16. Wendy Morrison says:

STOP KILLING EXOTIC AND ALL OTHER ANIMALS IMMEDIATELY!!!! NO ONE EVER NEEDS EXOTIC AND/OR ALL OTHER ANIMALS’ SKINS HANDBAGS, SHOES, EYC!!! ALL AMIMAL CRUELTY NEEDS TO BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY!!!
START SLAUGHTERING STUPID, CRUEL, ABUSIVE HUMANS INSTEAD OF ANIMALS!!!!@

  17. Carol Pearce says:

These skins and furs look (and belong to) better on the real thing – the animal. Faux is the way to go. I don’t know how these people can live with themselves knowing they are wearing an item from a tortured creature. Hope they suffer one day.

  18. Yip…. this shit must STOP… we’re too advanced for this barbarism!!! The few wealthy who buy this shite should be named and shamed…

  19. Stephanie Geyser says:

Unfortunately, it is a status symbol (“look how rich I am”) to wear exotic leather and fur. Until people grow up and stop showing off their supposed wealth (just to impress gullible fools), the killing of exotic animals merely to show off over-priced trinkets, will continue.

    Rich people are trash
