Tethered Dog Allegedly Struck Repeatedly and Left Injured: Seek Justice

Target: Fani T. Willis, District Attorney, Fulton County, Georgia

Goal: Ensure person accused of striking a restrained dog and causing serious injury faces appropriate legal consequences.

Authorities initiated a criminal investigation after receiving video evidence connected to an incident involving a companion animal. Investigators reviewed footage and began examining allegations that a restrained hound mix may have been struck repeatedly while confined to a short tether and unable to move away.

Responding officers and animal welfare personnel removed the dog for examination and care. Authorities documented what appeared to be injuries including bruising, swelling and a laceration requiring veterinary treatment. Investigators are attempting to locate the individual identified in connection with the case and an arrest warrant remains active.

This matter remains unprosecuted and no court has determined criminal liability. However, if the allegations are substantiated through lawful proceedings, meaningful accountability and stronger deterrence measures should follow to discourage future alleged cruelty toward animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Willis,

Authorities are investigating allegations that a restrained dog may have been subjected to repeated physical strikes while unable to escape. Publicly reported information suggests that the animal may have sustained injuries requiring veterinary intervention following the reported incident.

Investigators continue reviewing evidence and pursuing efforts to locate the individual identified in the warrant materials while preserving due process protections. Veterinary personnel and animal welfare responders continue supporting the dog’s recovery and assessment.

We respectfully urge your office to ensure a complete review of the evidence and, if supported by admissible evidence and legal findings, pursue strong lawful action against any individual ultimately found responsible. Please also support continued enforcement efforts intended to prevent future cruelty and strengthen protections for vulnerable animals.

Sincerely,
