Its conservation is crucial for the overall well-being of the Ganges riverine system, which is not only a lifeline for millions of people but also supports a rich diversity of flora and fauna.

To ensure the survival of the Ganges river dolphin, it is imperative to advocate for its conservation. This involves preserving and restoring its natural habitat, mitigating pollution from industrial and agricultural sources, promoting sustainable fishing practices, and implementing strict regulations to protect the species from accidental harm.

The conservation of the Ganges river dolphin is not only vital for India but also for global biodiversity. As a nation known for its cultural and natural heritage, India has a responsibility to protect its unique wildlife species. By championing the conservation of the Ganges River Dolphin, we can contribute to the preservation of India’s rich riverine ecosystems and secure a sustainable future for both wildlife and communities dependent on these rivers.

I hear Modi is a vegetarian so DO SOMETHING!!!

  2. Dolores Proubasta says:

India is very inconsistent. Like all (yes all) non-western cultures, committing to do something but not doing it is par for the course. There are animal protections laws in India, but the condition of animals are appalling and nothing its done about it. Hey! We got the law in the books … We’re good. I hope they are more consistent regarding aquatic creatures.

    • Right Dolores. Sort of reminds me of so many countries that have laws against the abuse of cats and dogs. Yet thousands of these animals are tortured and killed at slaughterhouses for human consumption and the officials just look the other way. Empathy and conscience don’t exist with the killers or the police. It’s all about the money.

Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India

I see above that you are a vegetarian. Well then, if you are indeed, do the right thing and stop the greedy, mindless and negligent fishing practices.

It is imperative that the Ganges river dolphin be protected from ALL threats(mostly human) so that extinction which would be detrimental to India and the planet is avoided at all cost!

  5. Shirley Lemieux says:

I agree with the petitioner that India has a responsibility to protect its unique wildlife species that include the Ganges river dolphin.

  6. Urszula Lund says:

    PROTECT the Ganges river dolphin!
It would be an EXTREME ENVIRONMENTAL CRIME if this unique species died out! These dolphins are already on the brink of extinction! Please, take action!

  7. Pamela Chattergoon says:

I’m surprised anything is still alive in the Ganges. People wash clothes and take baths in the same water they poop in. Yikes!

  8. Uncommon Sensesc says:

How in the hell do these people become “leaders” of their countries? I would expect them to be extremely intelligent, have common sense and protect their country along with its marine life and wildlife. Instead, they let people kill off the land and all marine/wild life that they want! And nothing happens to them! These are some nasty people though – I doubt there’s a river anywhere near that isn’t just full of bacteria from feces, urine, wounds – it’s sickening.

STOP THE HEINOUS SLAUGHTER OF THESE DEFENSELESS DOLPHINS!!

YOU WENT TO THE AVATAR, SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU SHOULD DO!!!
