Stop Climate Change From Wiping Out Komodo Dragon

Target: Mr. Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Minister of Environment and Forestry, Indonesia

Goal: Protect the habitat of the Komodo dragon by increasing conservation efforts and preventing habitat destruction.

The Komodo dragon, the largest living species of lizard on Earth, is endemic to Indonesia and can only be found in the wild in Komodo National Park. Unfortunately, the habitat of the Komodo dragon is under threat from habitat destruction, poaching, and the impact of climate change.

Komodo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its unique biodiversity, including the Komodo dragon. The park provides a vital habitat for this species, but increasing human activities, such as tourism and development, are placing pressure on the park’s ecosystem.

The Komodo dragon is an essential part of Indonesia’s natural heritage, and it is imperative that the government takes action to protect its habitat.

To address this issue, we call on the Indonesian government to increase conservation efforts and prevent habitat destruction in Komodo National Park. This can be achieved through the implementation of stricter regulations on tourism and development in the park, as well as increased patrols and law enforcement to prevent poaching. In addition, we urge the government to take measures to mitigate the impact of climate change on the Komodo dragon’s habitat, such as reducing carbon emissions and investing in sustainable practices.

The protection of the Komodo dragon’s habitat in Komodo National Park is critical to the survival of this species and the maintenance of Indonesia’s rich biodiversity. Sign below and demand leaders take action to ensure the long-term survival of the Komodo dragon and the preservation of the natural heritage of Indonesia.
