Success: California Bans Captive Orca Breeding

Target: Jerry Brown, Governor of California

Goal: Thank California for becoming the first state to ban captive orca breeding and export.

California has made the monumental decision to ban captive orca breeding and export out of North America. This is a huge success for animals imprisoned in the entertainment business, and it is in part due to petitions like the one at ForceChange.

Orcas are incredibly intelligent and social creatures, and this ban will prevent future orcas from the mental and physical stress of being trapped in a concrete tank. In addition, current orcas will not be forced to reproduce under unnatural circumstances.

Sign this petition and thank California for becoming the first state to ban orca breeding. Hopefully more states will follow in California’s footsteps.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Governor Brown,

Recently, you have made the groundbreaking decision to ban captive orca breeding and export out of North America. This makes California the first state to ban orca breeding.

As you are aware, orcas are incredibly smart and social creatures. This ban protects future generations from the unnecessary and horrible mental and physical stresses captive orcas face daily.

Thank you so much for protecting and helping animals. It is great to see more and more people standing up for those that cannot stand up for themselves. I can only hope more states follow in your footsteps.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
