Demand Aid for Victims of Tragic Market Fire

Target: John Mahama, President of Ghana

Goal: Support rebuilding efforts of region adversely impacted by market fire.

Fire has devastated another part of the world. A major market in Ghana lost over two-thirds of its store areas to a raging inferno. Investigators do not yet know what caused the blaze, although faulty electrical equipment could have played a role. Since the market stalls (numbering over 1,000) mostly contained clothing and were close together, the fire spread quickly.

The fire is especially devastating because of its economic impact in the region. Tens of thousands of people will reportedly have their livelihoods severely affected by this event. And the surrounding community stands to lose a key source of revenue.

Unfortunately, impacted individuals have been left with minimal support or outreach from their leaders. Sign the petition below to compel Ghana’s government to extend a helping hand to this devastated community.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear President Mahama,

Accra’s Kantamanto market suffered catastrophic losses when a fire consumed hundreds of its stalls and merchandise. This market has been a positive example of sustainable marketing, and it has likewise sustained the livelihoods of 30,000-plus citizens. As this community looks to rebuilding, it needs the aid of its dedicated leaders.

Please offer necessary resources, personnel, and investments to help resurrect a place that means so much to so many citizens.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
