Take Action Against Man Who Allegedly Abandoned Flea-Infested Puppies

Target: Alan Wilson, South Carolina Attorney General

Goal: Prosecute the individual allegedly responsible for abandoning and neglecting puppies, and ensure strict penalties for animal cruelty.

A South Carolina man, John Mumma, is facing allegations of severe neglect and abandonment of four pug puppies and their mothers. The young puppies, less than eight weeks old, were reportedly infested with fleas and bleeding, with visible hair loss and skin issues. According to witnesses, the dogs were left in deplorable conditions, leading to a significant risk of flea anemia, which can be fatal in young animals.

Mumma allegedly left the dogs with neighbors while he moved to South Carolina and neglected to provide proper care or resources for their well-being. Despite repeated opportunities to address the situation, he reportedly refused to surrender the animals or take responsibility for their care. The puppies and their mothers required emergency veterinary attention and were ultimately transported to a shelter for ongoing treatment.

This case seemingly highlights an alarming disregard for the welfare of vulnerable animals. Neglect and abandonment are forms of cruelty that leave defenseless animals to suffer unnecessarily. Stricter enforcement of animal protection laws is critical to preventing future cases like this.

We urge the South Carolina Attorney General to prosecute John Mumma to the fullest extent of the law and ensure that justice is served for these animals. Further, we call for increased penalties for animal cruelty to deter such acts and protect the innocent lives of pets.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Attorney General Wilson,

The recent case involving John Mumma, who allegedly abandoned four young puppies and their mothers in a flea-infested and dangerous state, demands urgent attention. Reports indicate that these vulnerable animals were left in deteriorating conditions, risking their lives due to severe flea infestations and untreated health issues.

Despite being aware of the dogs’ suffering, Mumma reportedly failed to provide veterinary care or financial assistance to those left caring for the animals. His reported neglect led to the need for emergency medical intervention, highlighting the pain and risk the animals apparently endured.

Animal cruelty and abandonment not only harm defenseless pets, but also set a dangerous precedent if left unchecked. We strongly urge your office to prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law and to advocate for stricter penalties against animal cruelty in South Carolina. Taking decisive action in this case will send a clear message that neglecting and abandoning animals will not be tolerated.

Thank you for your attention to this critical issue. We trust in your commitment to ensuring justice and protecting the welfare of animals.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
