Kitten Reportedly Scalded, Beaten, and Sealed Inside a Running Dryer: Demand Full Prosecution

Target: Amira D. Fox, State Attorney, Twentieth Judicial Circuit, Fort Myers, Florida

Goal: Ensure that the individual accused of torturing a young kitten and killing multiple companion animals is prosecuted to the fullest extent of Florida law.

The abuse investigators describe didn’t end with a single act of violence. It allegedly unfolded through a series of terrifying moments a defenseless kitten had no way to escape.

Deputies responding to an emergency call found evidence that a two-month-old kitten named Luna had allegedly been subjected to repeated acts of extreme cruelty inside a family home. Investigators allege she was held beneath scalding running bathwater, struck with a heavy glass nail polish bottle, and sealed inside a running clothes dryer. Luna survived and remains under intensive veterinary care. During the investigation, detectives also apparently uncovered shallow backyard graves containing the remains of two other kittens, prompting a broader inquiry into possible earlier acts of cruelty. Family members reportedly stayed silent out of fear of retaliation before the incident was finally reported. The accused has been arrested on charges of aggravated animal cruelty. The investigation remains active, and no court has determined criminal liability.

This case appears to reflect a pattern of calculated violence against an animal entirely dependent on human care. Companion animals should never become instruments of intimidation. A vigorous prosecution would make clear that cruelty of this severity carries real legal consequences.
