Target: Ankit Goyal, Superintendent of Police, Pune, India
Goal: Identify and prosecute any individuals found to have attacked a community dog with acid and causing life-threatening chemical burns.
A horrifying animal cruelty investigation intensified after a community dog was discovered suffering from extensive chemical burns near a residential area in Maval, Pune. Residents found the animal in severe agony near the Eco Valley Society Phase One complex and immediately contacted local animal welfare volunteers for emergency assistance.
The dog was rushed to a veterinary clinic where doctors began urgent treatment for widespread skin destruction and life-threatening injuries consistent with chemical exposure. Authorities later registered a First Information Report under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act against unidentified persons connected to the suspected attack. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas while attempting to identify the individual responsible for the reported attack. Animal welfare advocates warn that chemical attacks may cause unimaginable suffering involving burning pain, tissue destruction, blindness, infection, shock, and slow physical deterioration for surviving animals.
Residents have expressed concern regarding escalating violence against community animals living among neighborhoods. No arrests or prosecution have yet occurred because investigators continue collecting evidence connected to the incident.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear SP Goyal,
Authorities are investigating a case of a community dog attacked with acid and left suffering from extensive chemical burns near a residential complex.
Veterinary teams continue providing emergency treatment while investigators review surveillance footage connected to the reported attack. Police have already registered an FIR under animal cruelty and criminal provisions. If proven, the alleged conduct would represent severe torture and prolonged suffering inflicted upon a defenseless community animal.
We urge your department to identify and prosecute any individuals found responsible for this alleged acid attack and ensure maximum penalties under applicable law.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]
