An individual identified only as Ahn was accused of adopting and killing at least 11 cats and a dog under their care. Despite the gravity of the case, Ahn was released on probation and is currently awaiting a second trial. Now, disturbing reports suggest Ahn may have resumed adopting animals, raising alarm about the safety of a new cat seen in a photo seemingly taken at their residence.
Ahn’s past actions reportedly include adopting animals under false pretenses, subjecting them to unspeakable abuse, and taking the life of a dog within just one day of care. The potential presence of another cat at Ahn’s residence has heightened concerns, as history indicates the animal could be in immediate danger. A non-profit animal rights organization, KARA, attempted to verify the cat’s safety but received no response, and local authorities have been hesitant to proceed without further evidence.
This situation highlights glaring gaps in South Korea’s animal protection measures, as individuals with documented histories of suspected abuse can reportedly continue adopting animals. Stronger laws and decisive enforcement are urgently needed to prevent further harm to innocent lives. We call on the South Korean prime minister to take immediate action to investigate the welfare of any animals in Ahn’s custody and to prohibit individuals with suspected histories of animal cruelty from adopting or caring for animals in the future.

Protecting these innocent lives is a moral and legal obligation.

What a sick sob! South Korea, please do not take animal cruelty lightly. Punish this twisted monster Ahn with long term imprisonment and a few strokes of the cane for torturing and killing innocent animals before and many other ongoing heinous acts of cruelty! He is a danger to society!
