Seek Justice for Rabbits Reportedly Found Dead in Unsanitary Conditions

Target: Chris Perrone, Cass County District Attorney, Nebraska

Goal: Hold couple accountable for allegedly subjecting rabbits to severe neglect, unsanitary conditions, and death.

A deeply disturbing case of potential animal cruelty has emerged in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, where David and Amanda Reynolds were arrested following the alleged discovery of four dead rabbits and multiple other animals living in unsanitary and neglected conditions in their home. The couple was arrested after authorities conducted multiple inspections of the property based on a tip from Nebraska’s child welfare agency. The inspections reportedly revealed widespread filth, including feces and urine throughout the home, with some animals living in dire conditions.

According to reports, police discovered a rabbit hutch in one of the children’s rooms overflowing with feces and urine. The most disturbing discovery occurred in the basement, where an entire room had allegedly been converted into a rabbit pen. Officers say they found four dead rabbits in the pen, which had no food or water available. The overwhelming stench of ammonia reportedly caused officers’ eyes to burn upon entering the area. The couple later claimed they were unaware that rabbits were being kept in the basement, a statement that has only added to the gravity of the situation.

This case represents an alleged violation of animal welfare laws, and it is crucial that the Cass County District Attorney pursues this case with the full weight of the law. The suffering endured by the animals in these conditions is unacceptable. Hold those responsible accountable to ensure that justice is served.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Chris Perrone,

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent case of alleged animal cruelty involving David and Amanda Reynolds in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. According to reports, multiple inspections of the Reynolds’ home revealed unsanitary and dangerous living conditions for several animals, including a rabbit hutch overflowing with feces and urine and a basement rabbit pen where four dead rabbits were discovered. The apparent lack of food, water, and proper care for these animals is an alleged violation of animal welfare laws.

The suffering and neglect seemingly endured by these animals, particularly the rabbits found dead in the basement, demand a thorough investigation and the pursuit of maximum legal penalties under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The conditions described are not only heartbreaking but also represent a serious breach of responsibility on the part of the owners.

I urge you to prioritize this case and take strong legal action to ensure that justice is served for the animals involved. By holding those responsible accountable, you will send a clear message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in our community.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. This couple must be charged with the death of all the rabbits. They live in a worse condition than any wild animal. These parents need to have their kids raised by someone else. If not family, then a government run facility. The couple must face trail and serve time for their actions. Above all else these two people need a life long ban so they can never own, work with, or be near animals for the rest of their guilty lives. These two people are not fit to be parents, or animal caregivers. They are worthless to their family and to society.
