Seek Justice for Horses Allegedly Starved at Retirement Farm

Target: John Lumpkins, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Goochland County, Virginia

Goal: Implement stringent oversight and harsher penalties for animal abuse cases.

Shock waves have traversed the horse-loving community as distressing allegations surface from Byrd’s Nest Farm in Goochland County. Elderly horses, entrusted to Byrd Rareshide for a serene retirement, allegedly faced severe neglect, becoming nearly skeletal. This seemingly grim situation, unfolding under the guise of care, calls loudly for justice and reform.

Eyewitness accounts and expert testimony painted a harrowing picture of the conditions these animals reportedly endured. Despite Rareshide’s claims of seasonal weight loss, veterinarians reported the observed emaciation was far from normal. The stark contrast between the owner’s love for horses and the animals’ apparently dire state has sparked a public outcry for accountability.

This case not only sheds light on alleged mistreatment at one farm but also underscores a broader issue of animal welfare. The need for stringent legal frameworks and oversight to prevent such alleged negligence is paramount. Demand immediate action to ensure no animal suffers a similar fate, advocating for stronger protection laws and penalties for those found guilty of animal abuse.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prosecutor John Lumpkins,

The heart-wrenching situation uncovered at Byrd’s Nest Farm, where elderly horses allegedly suffered severe neglect, requires your immediate attention and action. As the authority capable of catalyzing change, we urge you to consider the depth of this issue. The allegations of abuse, supported by witness testimony and veterinary expertise, illustrate a stark discrepancy between the care promised and the grim reality these animals likely faced.

The community’s trust has been shattered by stories of animals left to become skeletal, their dignity stripped in what was meant to be their tranquil retirement. The alleged neglect at Byrd’s Nest Farm speaks to a larger issue within our society’s treatment of animals, highlighting a distressing gap in our legal protections for these vulnerable beings.

Thus, we demand rigorous enforcement of animal welfare laws and the imposition of harsher penalties for those found guilty of such abuse. It is imperative to establish a precedent that ensures the welfare of all animals is respected and protected. Let this case be a catalyst for change, safeguarding the rights and well-being of animals across Goochland County and beyond.

Sincerely,

  1. Horses in retirement paid for by owners who care should not be shown such cruelty. Loving your horse enough to pay for their comfort in retirement and not having them go to a slaughter house is love in action. Then to find out your horse suffered by starving is too much to process. The owners of this retirement farm are horrendous people. America is a land of laws but no justice! For justice to be served in this case all horses must be rehired at the expense of these ruthless creeps. Money must be refunded to the rightful owners. The business must be closed and the law make certain the references of this criminal activity follows these miserable creeps. Not enough money, take their house. Take their savings along with any and all material gains. People learn when money is take away.
