Cat Reportedly Suffering From Broken Back and Paralysis After Being Hit By Thrown Rock Deserves Justice

Target: Dr. Abbas Mortada, Minister of Agriculture and Culture in Lebanon

Goal: Ensure stringent measures against alleged animal cruelty against a cat.

In Bekaa, Lebanon, a heart-wrenching incident surfaced, involving a cat named Kiri. Reportedly, a child’s act of throwing stones at her led to severe injuries. Kiri’s backbone was tragically broken, leaving her paralyzed. Paws Crossed Rescue Center, already operating at full capacity, stepped in to provide care when her previous rescuer faced financial constraints in affording medical treatment.

A distressing video shared on the center’s TikTok page highlighted Kiri’s plight. Initial frames show her struggling to move, dragging herself across surfaces due to immobilized hind legs. Subsequent visuals in the clip display Kiri’s warmth towards her rescuer, despite her painful condition. X-ray images reveal the extent of her injuries, confirming a broken back. Though a challenging path lies ahead, there’s hope that with surgery, Kiri might regain her ability to walk.

The video sparked widespread dismay and raised critical questions about animal abuse. This incident isn’t isolated; rather, it reflects a broader, global issue of animal mistreatment. Despite this, organizations like Paws Crossed Rescue Center strive relentlessly to counteract these atrocities. Cultivate a culture of compassion and respectful treatment of animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Dr. Abbas Mortada,

We are writing to bring to your attention the distressing case of Kiri, a cat from Bekaa, Lebanon. Her ordeal, captured in a video, reportedly shows the harrowing effects of animal abuse. Kiri’s backbone was broken due to stones allegedly thrown at her by a child, leaving her paralyzed.

This incident isn’t just a singular case of apparent cruelty but indicative of a larger, more pervasive problem. It highlights the urgent need for stricter laws and enforcement against animal cruelty in Lebanon. We urge you to take immediate and significant action to address this issue. It is crucial to implement stringent measures to protect animals and penalize perpetrators of such inhumane acts.

We request that you use your influence and authority to ensure that justice is served in Kiri’s case. Further, we advocate for the establishment of more robust legal frameworks to prevent future instances of animal abuse. It is essential to foster an environment where animals are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

By acting decisively in Kiri’s case, you have the opportunity to set a precedent that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Lebanon. Your leadership can significantly impact how animals are treated and protected in your country.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

    Hang them!

  2. Harsh punishment!!!! Make an example of the person responsible!!!!

  3. It was a child (no age mentioned) who did this. In far to many countries this is a sport that children are allowed to indulge in. They need to meet and greet dogs, cats and all animals when starting school age, or this will never end.A child’s mind can be changed. We do it all the time in the western world.

AN EYE FOR AN EYE…humans MUST be made to feel EXACTLY what they are doing to others!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would always prefer to go with Justice BUT that system needs to grow up and grow a pair and start doing the right thing!!!!

  6. Do the same with that monster of a child and take the parents right along with it!
Let them never be able to walk again and also make them pay all expenses for this innocent little creature who NEVER harmed anyone!!!

      yes agreed.

      • Joyce O'Malley says:

Yes, this atrocity is common in this region because there are no protection laws for animals, plus the people don’t care

    • Yes! If a child is capable of such a vile atrocity what will it be capable of as an adult? The parents must be held accountable for allowing their offspring to partake in such a cruel act.

TOTALLY AGREE START WITH THE LESS THAN HUMAN BEING PARENTS THEN GET THE LESS THAN HUMAN BEING CHILD EXACUTE ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A stray animal (there through human irresponsibility – abandonment, refusal to spay or neuter) is harsh enough without making its survival unlikely and causing it pain with every movement. Shame on anyone that intentionally harms the harmless of the world. And don’t rationalize cruelty that they are just animals. They are our unconditional friends as this kitty warmed to her rescuer in agony from this egregious act.

  8. Cathy McCormick says:

Another sickening story of a child abusing an animal for fun! Please punish the child and prosecute the parents for enabling animal abuse!

An eye for an eye, no excuse for being a child, stone the parents too

  12. No excuse even if its a child. He or she will definitely grow up to be an animal abuser, violent, cruel and incompassionate. Take the right actions now to prevent it please.

Sweet little Kiri ….I pray for a speedy and full recovery with the Lord’s hand.

Further….. what is the age of the child…the parents should also take responsibility for the child’s action.

  19. Urszula Lund says:

No animal deserves to be the victim of DEHUMANIZED and DESENSITIZED SADISTIC PSYCHOPATHS!!! Crimes committed against defenseless animals are increasingly GROTESQUE because the punishment for animal abuse is not severe enough, and in many cases does not exist.
Children are not thaught to respect animals which results in animal abuse. There are no lessons in animal welfare at school. Our society becomes more and more dehumanized. We can see the results of this dehumanization in today’s violent world.
    ANIMAL LIVES MATTER!!!!
As long as humans abuse animals, they will themselves be abused and killed!

  20. Stephanie Geyser says:

What type of monsters raise a child that stones a defenseless animal to cause such injury? No wonder the Middle East is in such turmoil, when this is how children act. God help us all once these brutish children become adults, and think it is okay to brutalize every living thing (animals and humans) around them. God help the world.
