Dogs and Birds Allegedly Forced to Perform at Circus Deserve Justice

Target: Mr. Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs of India

Goal: Ensure a thorough investigation into the alleged cruelty to dogs and birds and take appropriate action against the responsible individuals.

A deeply distressing incident of alleged animal cruelty has come to our attention involving the Great Bombay Circus in Coimbatore, India. The police have registered a case against the circus company based on a complaint lodged by Arun Prasanna G., the founder of People For Cattle in India (PFCI).

According to Mr. Prasanna’s complaint, the circus company employed seven dogs, one macaw, two cockatoos, and three African grey parrots for their show at V.O.C. Grounds in Coimbatore. It is alleged that these animals were subjected to forced performances that go against their natural movement and behavior. The birds’ wings were reportedly found clipped, rendering them unable to fly freely, causing extreme distress to the animals involved.

The use of animals in circuses raises concerns about their well-being, as they may be exposed to unnatural conditions and forced to perform acts that compromise their welfare. In this case, the alleged mistreatment of dogs and birds for entertainment purposes is not only ethically wrong but may also violate the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Demand action now.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Amit Shah,

We, the undersigned, are writing to express our deep concern and outrage regarding the alleged cruelty to dogs and birds by the Great Bombay Circus. The use of animals for entertainment purposes in circuses raises significant ethical and welfare concerns, and it is imperative that decisive action is taken to address these allegations.

The alleged mistreatment of animals for entertainment purposes not only violates ethical principles, but also reflects a disregard for the welfare and dignity of living beings. India has made significant strides in animal welfare legislation, and it is crucial to enforce these laws effectively to protect animals from exploitation and harm.

We demand that you take appropriate action against the responsible individuals involved in this alleged mistreatment and penalize them, if found guilty. The welfare of animals must be upheld, and those found guilty of violating animal welfare laws should face the full extent of legal consequences.

Sincerely,

Circuses are disgusting. Animals are abused every day. I would never go to a circus. I stopped going to fairs, that promote animal abuse, theme parks, etc. Animal abuse disguised as entertainment. Why can’t some people see that?

  2. Here we go again, humans exploiting and abusing animals for entertainment. It’s so disgusting and sickening. Circuses and zoos need to be banned and outlawed!!
