Goal: Advocate for strict punishment of the perpetrators who bound a dog’s muzzle with rubber bands.
A helpless and malnourished dog, later named Marigold, was found abandoned in a park with rubber bands tightly wrapped around her mouth. The bands cut her to the bone and maggots filled the wounds as she struggled to breathe. The perpetrator is currently unknown.
The cruelty inflicted upon Marigold is not only a blatant violation of our moral duty to protect and care for animals but also a violation of laws governing animal welfare. Such acts of cruelty cause immense pain, suffering, and lasting trauma to innocent beings.
It is essential that our legal system upholds the principles of justice, compassion, and protection for all living beings. By advocating for strict punishment in this case, we aim to send a strong message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in our society.

Someone should recognize this poor dog and know who the owner was/is, put the picture out there and post a reward. Whoever did this is a cowardly loser and a danger to other animals. Also, the connection between abusing animals and people is too strong to ignore. This person needs to be found, prosecuted and jailed before worse things happen.
I agree with JoAnne. Someone out there knows something. No animal should suffer this way. The sad part is it was due to her owner. That is usually the case. The hard part is finding who did this. If found we must make our laws stricter for those found guilty of animal abuse. Dogs are better than humans. Dogs don’t deserve this torture.
Yet in order to stop this type of thing we must make prison a must! The law must speak for these victims not judges but juries. First time offenses don’t matter, all offenses matter! A 10 year prison sentence at the least needs to be in order. Parents of teens found guilty need to be fined a huge amount as I feel they know their kid and most likely have a clue but do nothing. A person found guilty must pay all vet bills and boarding bills. If they kill an animals they must be made to pay at least 10 thousand dollars, or more, to the family. They must make retribution. Maybe this will stop some of this evil.
Philadelphia ignores animal abusers. These people are evil and in today’s times will walk or some organization will bail them out. Disgusting.
The laws need to be in place for the animals. All animal abusers need the death penalty – they will never ever stop the abuse and killing of animals. What a horrible thing to have done to this poor dog and no matter what the dog never deserved to be abused. The abusers are never held accountable – never. As far as stating that they should never be allowed to have animals again is a f*cking joke – of course they will have them again and more abuse will take place – end the god damn cycle with a bullet – problem solved. Come on people we all know that there is just no punishment for these acts of cruelty.
