Protect African Wild Dogs From Extinction Due to Hunters

Target: Mr. Mokgweetsi Masisi, President of Botswana

Goal: Advocate for the protection of the African wild dog, which is threatened by habitat loss and hunting.

The African wild dog is an endangered species that is facing numerous threats to its survival, including habitat loss and hunting. Without immediate action, this iconic species could become extinct in the near future, which would have significant ecological, cultural, and economic impacts on Botswana and the African continent.

To protect the African wild dog, we need to address the root causes of habitat loss and hunting. We also need to implement measures to reduce human-wildlife conflict, such as public education and outreach. Finally, we need to support scientific research and monitoring to better understand the needs of the African wild dog and its habitat.

Through habitat protection and management, human-wildlife conflict reduction, and scientific research and monitoring, we can protect the African wild dog and its habitat.

Sign below and demand President Masisi take action and support these efforts.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Masisi,

I am writing to urge you to advocate for the protection of the African wild dog, which is threatened by habitat loss and hunting. The African wild dog is an iconic species that is native to Botswana and the African continent, and without immediate action, it could become extinct in the near future.

To protect the African wild dog, we need to address the root causes of habitat loss and hunting. We also need to implement measures to reduce human-wildlife conflict, such as public education and outreach. Finally, we need to support scientific research and monitoring to better understand the needs of the African wild dog and its habitat.

We urge you to take immediate action and support efforts to protect the African wild dog and its habitat. Thank you for your attention to this critical issue.

Sincerely,

  1. No comments on this? What, habitat loss and hunting in Africa is not important enough because it’s not in your backyard? Come on, people!

There are soo many wrongs we humans are making. There are so many evil people. There are so many uncaring people. There are so many disasters and wars. We are overwhelmed with all the evil. We sign so many petitions everyday. The animals, all the animals that are suffering and going extinct, it’s very emotional. There are the people on the front lines that are so brave and do so much everyday. Some of us have health reasons, financial reasons, all the reasons that we cannot do the work with those brave people, it is disheartening but we will continue to sign petitions, donate and anything else we can do. I sometimes feel replying will not even help. I cry for those animals and wish we can stop their pain. I don’t know what else to say. It is hard to reply sometimes.

  2. Animals, like people, need habitat, a space they recognize as theirs for hunting, living and having offspring. The earth is not only for humans. The earth is to support the life and well being of animals, plants, oceans, and more. Humans are there worst animals in the kingdom. Extremely selfish and do not share land or food sources with animals. Animals can make it on their own, as they always have, but humans are not the only species on earth. Humans must share. Population explosions among humans and humans spreading out yet humans are the only species which can build up! China, India, and all other populations must limit their pregnancies and learn to abide in apartment dwellings. This will save space for animals.

I don’t get it – if I had the power to protect and save wild animals in a country where I was PRESIDENT, no one would have to tell me to do this! What the hell is wrong with people?

  4. African wildlife doesn’t need comments on a petition… they need ACTION on the ground! This petition will most likely not touch sides… but a written email directly to the Botswana Gov may be more useful to them 🙂 just an idea….

Agree with you G. The earth is NOT just for humans!

Mr. Mokgweetsi Masisi, President of Botswana,

Every animal was put on this planet for a reason. THEY ALL COUNT AND THEY ALL NEED TO BE PROTECTED, RESPECTED AND SO SHOULD THEIR HABITATS!

If Habitat loss and poaching are the root causes, it is time to put in place stringent legal measures that are enforced to severely punish both! …before the animals are all lost!

  6. Protect and respect.

  7. Shirley Lemieux says:

I absolutely agree with the Author of this Petition that “Through habitat protection and management, human-wildlife conflict reduction, and scientific research and monitoring, we can protect the African wild dog and its habitat.” I support this Petition.

  8. No-one is brave enough to address the real issue – too many people at the expense of wildlife, encroaching on their habitat. Animals need and are entitled to space to survive.

  9. Humans suck so bad. We kill off EVERYTHING. The extinction of our species can’t come soon enough.

  10. Urszula Lund says:

    STOP this EXTREME ENVIRONMENTAL CRIME!

  11. Wendy+Morrison says:

PROTECT ALL ANIMALS ENVIRONMENTS AND STOP KILLING ALL SNIMALS IN AFRICA AND EVERYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

  12. Michelle Stewart says:

    Shoot all the hunters dead
