Use Science to Protect the Endangered Saiga Antelope

Target: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan

Goal: Protect the saiga antelope and its habitat to ensure the survival of this critically endangered species.

The saiga antelope is a critically endangered species that is facing numerous threats to its survival, including habitat loss, hunting, and climate change. Without immediate action, the saiga antelope could become extinct in the near future, which would have significant ecological, cultural, and economic impacts on Kazakhstan and the world.

To protect the saiga antelope, we need to address the root causes of habitat loss and fragmentation, including overgrazing, agricultural expansion, and mining. We also need to implement measures to reduce hunting, such as stronger regulations, law enforcement, and public education. Finally, we need to support scientific research and monitoring to better understand the needs of the saiga antelope and its habitat.

By protecting the saiga antelope and its habitat, reducing hunting, and conducting scientific research, we can ensure the survival of this iconic species and maintain the ecological health of Kazakhstan’s natural heritage.

Sign below and demand President Tokayev take action and support these efforts.
