Target: Patrick Hartshorn, Vermilion County Sheriff
Goal: Find person who trespassed on to property to shoot horse dead.
A gentle family horse named Apache was shot and killed by a trespasser. Apache was discovered by the owner of the home lying in a field in a pool of blood.
Apache was 5 years old and was a gentle creature who loved his family. “Apache was a good, loving horse that we and all my kids rode and took care of. He had his own personality. He was a good boy,” owner AJ Garrison explained.
When Garrison was asked who he thought might have killed his horse, and why, he responded, “Couldn’t even tell you, I didn’t know what to think. I never could’ve imagined it. He wasn’t a horse. He was family.”
Another homeowner Kristy Garrison noted, “There is no excuse for intentionally killing a gentle animal just for entertainment,” Garrison said. “I hope that whoever trespassed on private property and took pleasure in killing Apache is caught.”
The Sheriff’s Office has not yet indicated that they have any leads or suspects.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Sheriff Hartshorn,
A gentle family horse named Apache was shot and killed by a trespasser.
It is far too often in these crimes against animals that the perpetrator is never caught and punished. We hope that your office will devote all resources necessary to ensure that is not the case here. Apache’s killer must be brought to justice.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

Offer a reward, the a$$hole who did this is known, he has bragged to someone about what a loser he is. When you find him, and you must, he needs his weapon taken away, he should be jailed, get a lifetime ban from gun ownership and animal contact. Killing a defenseless horse standing in his own field is a sick and inhumane thing to do and the freak who did it deserves no mercy, he is a sick monster.
Instigation of the death penalty must be applied to these scumbag horse killers. A slow and agonizing death for these evil cretins is essential!
OUTRAGEOUS! Whoever did this MUST BE PUNISHED!
