Success: Animal Cruelty Offenders Face Federal Fines and Imprisonment

Target: Sheriff Daron Hall, President of the National Sheriffs’ Association

Goal: Thank those who stood up for animal rights and helped to make federal ban on animal cruelty official.

From this day forward, any intentional physical harm towards “living non-human mammals, birds, reptiles, or amphibians” is forbidden, as are photographs or digital recordings depicting said harm. President Trump has signed the official federal ban on animal cruelty across the United States, enacting harsher penalties and consequences for those who harm animals.

This ban has been working its way through the Senate and Congress for quite some time now, with plans to make it official being announced just earlier in November. For years, animal welfare groups and legal organizations such as the National Sheriffs’ Association have been fighting to outlaw the horrific treatment many innocent creatures are subjected to. Petitions such as this one have circulated demanding such acts be criminalized.

With presidential approval of the ban, animals across the country will finally be safe and treated with the reverence and decency they deserve. Sign this petition to thank the National Sheriffs’ Association for helping to make this possible.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Sheriff Hall,

Your endorsement of a ban on animal cruelty across the United States has helped make that ban possible, as President Trump has signed the official federal document. For years, too many animals have suffered horribly at the hands of cruel owners, strangers, or people who exploited their suffering for views and clicks on social media. Now, such acts are automatically criminal.

It is because of your organization and many others that this ban was able to push through the Senate and Congress, to work its way up to becoming official. Your recognition of animal cruelty as a crime and its link between criminal behavior towards humans was a major factor in this ban becoming a reality. Thanks to you, animals across the United States will be safer.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. DID ANYONE ACTUALLY READ THE BILL. IT ONLY ENFORCES PENALTIES FOR ANIMALS USED OR TRANSPORTED IN CRUSH FILMS. TAKE TAKE A FEW MINUTES AND ACTUALLY READ THE BILL. IT DOES NOT FURTHER ANY PENALTIES FOR OUR COMPANION ANIMALS. PLEASE READ THE BILL AND UNDERSTAND IT HAS A VERY NARROW SCOPE.
