Success: Judge Rules DACA Stays

Target: Judge John Bates of Washington D.C.

Goal: Congratulate Judge Bates on helping to keep the Dreamer’s act alive.

A federal judge has blocked President Trump’s plan–opposed by the ForceChange community on petitions like this one–to dismantle the Deferred Action for Child Arrivals program. Judge John Bates of Washington D.C. is the third federal judge to block Trump’s proposal. The program has been quite controversial lately as Trump has moved his attention towards whether or not to keep the program intact, using it as a leverage tool to pass other immigration laws.

The Deferred Action for Child Arrivals program allows children of immigrants to stay in this country legally despite their parent’s immigration status. Trump has used this program as a bargaining chip to build his border wall. The people most affected by this program are children of immigrants, who came here without a choice, so this decision serves as a victory in keeping them here. Sign the petition letter below to congratulate Judge Bates on his honorable decision.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Judge Bates,

Thank you for believing in the Dreamers enough to keep them in this country. Your court’s decision is a landmark victory for children of immigration. Thanks to you, we now have a generation of future doctors, firefighters, politicians, teachers, and citizens who will continue to make this country beautiful.

America is the most beautiful when we are a tapestry woven of the cultures that inhabit us. The importance of keeping our children in one place can not be understated, so thank you for continuing to protect the country’s Dreamers.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
