Raise Awareness Of Spikes In Arctic Air Pollution Caused By Melting Sea Ice
The melting of Arctic sea ice due to climate change is releasing high levels of a chemical called bromine into the air. This causes a reaction with mercury to create pollution that is very harmful to the environment. As our environment continues to deteriorate, this pollution will begin to affect people just as much as it has affected the animals that used to thrive. We must be more careful with our use of our valuable resources in order to help reverse and hopefully stop the damage we are inflicting on our planet.
Ask Walmart to Stop Using Plastic Bags
Plastic bags are harmful to the environment in many ways. Walmart is a large corporation with stores all over the country, so it contributes greatly to plastic bag use. But because of its size, it can set a precedent for other retailers. Urge Walmart to stop using plastic bags in their stores and help save the environment.

Don’t Force Landowners To Kill Prairie Dogs
Frederick, Colorado has implemented a new ordinance that will require private landowners to inhumanely kill off any prairie dogs on their property. If citizens refuse to comply, they will be issued a ticket and have to pay a fine of up to $1,000. This Colorado town must be reminded that there are other options that will benefit themselves, their town, their citizens, and Colorado’s natural wildlife. A different solution may not be easier, but it certainly will be better than forcing citizens to slaughter prairie dogs.
Save The Great Barrier Reef From The Coal Industry

Speak Out Against Dirty Garbage Incineration in the United States
There’s no easy way to solve our growing waste disposal problem, but burning trash is dangerous for the planet and for our health. Let the United States Environmental Protection Agency know we need to use cleaner ways to dispose of our waste than burning it.
Cut Illinois’ Oil Dependency in Half
With the federal government so closely tied to huge oil industries, it can be difficult to persuade Congress to decrease U.S. oil dependency. However, Illinois is taking matters into its own hands with new legislation that would cut the state’s oil dependency in half by the year 2050. Tell Governor Quinn how important it is to support sustainability in the American Midwest.
Call for the Resignation of Department of Fish and Game Commission President for Shooting and Eating a Cougar

Although the hunting of mountain lions is legal in Idaho, they are protected in California and he should hold himself to the same standards in Idaho as he expects from the people he regulates in California.
Hold The Cranberry Industry Responsible For Water Pollution
Cranberry crops create water run-off that carries phosphorous, fertilizers, and pesticides into the water supply. In spite of this, the cranberry industry is not currently subject to federal water laws. Tell Congress to include cranberries in federal environmental regulations and hold them to the same water standards as other agricultural industries.
Demand a Real Solution to Deadly Noise Pollution in the Arctic Ocean
Extreme noise pollution caused by gas and oil exploration in the Arctic Ocean makes it difficult for marine species to breed, hunt, and communicate with each other. The U.S. government currently has four proposals to address noise pollution, but scientists believe that none of the proposals are effective or responsible. Protect the well-being of marine life and ask the government to not adopt flimsy rules that won’t make any difference.
Stop Damming the Rivers of Patagonian, Chile
An Italian-Spanish and Chilean energy partnership is attempting to construct five dams near Patagonia National Park in Chile. Chileans have voiced their opposition through a series of marches and protests, citing the potential for ecological damage as well as the threat the project poses to the traditional southern Chilean way of life and environment. Chileans have called for a halt to the projects; it is now time for the international community to join them in their call for preservation in Patagonia and demand that dam construction be stopped.
Increase Research for Algae Based Biofuels to Reduce Fossil Fuel Dependence
Algae based biofuels are an excellent renewable alternative to fossil fuels. Algae based biofuels would not threaten food production or fresh water supplies, unlike other biofuel sources. Urge Congress to fund research into algae based biofuels and help decrease our dependence and consumption of oil.
Don’t use U.S. Tax Dollars to Finance Dirty Coal Power Plants in India
The U.S. is considering investing American tax dollars into two huge coal power plants in India. The U.S. has invested in coal plants in India before and the venture failed and the Indian government has since decided that investment in the new plants is also likely to fail. However, the U.S. continues to consider financing the new plants. Stop the U.S. from allocating our hard-earned tax dollars toward the creation of dirty coal plants in India.

Antarctica’s oceans are under dire threat. To protect this pristine, yet threatened, ocean area we must create a network of marine reserves in the Antarctic oceans. If not, pollution and over-fishing will destroy these magnificent waters.
Ensure Plutonium Levels are Managed Properly at Nuclear Weapons Production Facility
A new proposal to build a highway through an old nuclear production site ignores the fact that plutonium levels in that area are as high as they were in the 1970s. Tell the US Fish and Wildlife Service to review their decision and make sure that concerns over exposure to high levels of radiation are addressed.
