The melting of Arctic sea ice due to climate change is releasing high levels of a chemical called bromine into the air. This causes a reaction with mercury to create pollution that is very harmful to the environment. As our environment continues to deteriorate, this pollution will begin to affect people just as much as it has affected the animals that used to thrive. We must be more careful with our use of our valuable resources in order to help reverse and hopefully stop the damage we are inflicting on our planet.

A different solution may not be easier, but it certainly will be better than forcing citizens to slaughter prairie dogs.
