Investigators are examining intake and disposition records while forensic searches of the property continue, seeking evidence that could explain these disturbing discrepancies.
That investigation must be exhaustive. Every recovered animal should be documented where feasible, relevant records preserved and missing animals traced. If evidence establishes that any person allegedly engaged in cruelty, neglect, fraudulent recordkeeping or another criminal offense, authorities should pursue appropriate charges. Hundreds of animals cannot simply remain unexplained.

Investigators should also determine the whereabouts or documented disposition of every dog that remains unaccounted for.
If evidence establishes that any individual committed animal cruelty, neglect, fraudulent recordkeeping or another offense, please ensure the allegations are fully investigated and appropriate charges pursued where supported by evidence. Rescue organizations are entrusted with animals that may have nowhere else to turn. Determine what happened to these animals and ensure meaningful accountability if criminal wrongdoing is proven.
