Justice for Phineas, Alleged Severely Injured Rescue Dog Saved From Death

Target: Sean Teare, District Attorney of Harris County, TX

Goal: Pursue arrest and criminal charges, if necessary, in case of dog surrendered with allegedly severe injuries.

A dog mere hours away from euthanized execution at a Houston animal shelter was given a new opportunity at life thanks to the intervention of a local animal rescue group. Ten-month-old Phineas came into the shelter in dire straits, reportedly suffering from infections, bites, and head wounds. He had been surrendered by his owner.

That owner became the subject of an animal cruelty investigation. The apparent injuries to Phineas may have resulted from mauling by other dogs. While further details have not been disclosed, it seems likely that the president of the rescue group caring for Phineas was correct in the assertion that Phineas has “had a horrible life.”

Sign the petition below to urge prosecutors to exercise due diligence in this case of alleged cruelty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Teare,

A veterinarian reportedly confirmed that a ten-month-old dog surrendered by his owner had endured serious injuries. This young animal is seemingly only alive today thanks to the collective efforts of investigators and Scout’s Honor Rescue. The police department has stated a potential for animal cruelty charges, presumably from information not publicly disclosed.

Please advocate for full and maximum charges if the evidence indicates any form of cruelty has occurred. All vulnerable animals deserve a chance at a safe and secure life, free from intentional harm.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
