According to police reports and eyewitness statements, a local resident cornered a stray dog in broad daylight before slamming the animal against the ground multiple times. Witnesses further alleged that the suspect pinned the struggling dog beneath his foot and used a sharp knife to cut the animal’s throat.
Bystanders screamed for the violence to stop while recording the incident on mobile phones. Witnesses additionally alleged that the individual began skinning the animal in public view while shocked residents watched nearby. The footage spread rapidly across social media and prompted widespread outrage among animal welfare advocates and local residents. A local animal protection organization later helped villagers file a formal criminal complaint with authorities.
Police opened an investigation under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and are currently reviewing video evidence, interviewing witnesses and collecting forensic material connected to the reported killing.
