Release the Full Epstein Files

Target: Pam Bondi, U.S. Attorney General

Goal: Fulfill the legal and moral obligation to disclose all data relevant to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

When accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein allegedly committed suicide in 2019, a years-long odyssey continued to get justice for the 1,000-plus reported victims of Epstein and his associates. That justice was denied when a “sweetheart deal” non-prosecution agreement was handed to Epstein and unnamed co-conspirators in 2007. It was denied again following Epstein’s death, when pending charges against him were dismissed. And in the wake of a controversial and stalled rollout of files and information related to Epstein and his crimes, survivors firmly believe they have been denied justice again. In a joint statement, 19 survivors claimed, “the men who abused us remain hidden and protected.”

The statement was in response to the latest – and seemingly last – batch of files to be released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. This law, which barely made it past obstructionist attempts from politicians, mandated that all Department of Justice files involving Epstein be publicly disclosed (including redactions to protect survivors) by mid-December. Yet over a month after this deadline passed, an estimated half of the relevant information has not been released. The withheld data includes victim statements, details surrounding the deal that kept Epstein out of prison, and quite possibly direct identification of potential co-conspirators. Even among the files that have been released, criticism remains about the heavy redactions — with suspect failures to redact private information about accusers — and alleged omissions of certain documents unfavorable to rich and powerful politicians.

Despite the concerns and the backlog of unreleased files, the Deputy Attorney General has seemingly declared the release over, calling the most recent disclosures “the end of a very comprehensive document identification and review process.” Sign the petition below to demand the Department of Justice honor the calls of survivors to proceed with “the full release of the Epstein files.”

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Attorney General Bondi,

Accountability for one of the most prolonged and expansive sex trafficking cases in history had drawn rare bipartisan support. The Epstein Files Transparency Act was supposed to be an important step toward securing this accountability for survivors. Yet the slow walking of this process continues, with the Department of Justice claiming they are simply acting to protect Epstein and his associates’ victims.

These survivors have made clear that they want and need justice, not continued concealment. A joint letter signed by survivors called for “the full release of the Epstein files” and an end to protections for his co-conspirators. The federal government has failed these women for decades. Now is the time to step up and put their needs first.

No more excuses or delays: release all the files ASAP.

Sincerely,
