Stop Alleged Cruelty Toward Community Dogs and Harassment of Their Feeders

Target: Alok Kumar (IPS), Director General of Police, Goa

Goal: Investigate and prosecute alleged animal cruelty and harassment of lawful community animal caregivers.

A formal complaint has been filed seeking police action against two individuals accused of repeated acts of animal cruelty and the harassment of community dog feeders. According to the complaint, several community dogs were injured due to deliberate actions that caused pain, fear, and distress. Medical records and supporting documentation related to the injured animals have been submitted to authorities.

The complaint further alleges that the accused repeatedly intimidated and obstructed lawful caregivers who were feeding and caring for community dogs. Such interference is said to have created an atmosphere of hostility and fear, while endangering animals that depend on regular care for survival and health.

When individuals harm animals and target caregivers attempting to lawfully protect them, it undermines public order, animal welfare, and the rule of law. This petition calls for the prompt registration of an FIR, a fair investigation, and appropriate legal action under applicable animal welfare and criminal statutes.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DGP Kumar,

We are writing to express serious concern regarding a complaint alleging repeated acts of animal cruelty and the harassment of lawful community dog feeders. According to the complaint, multiple community dogs were injured as a result of actions that caused unnecessary pain, suffering, and distress.

The complaint further states that caregivers were verbally threatened, obstructed during feeding, and intimidated for carrying out lawful animal welfare activities. Such conduct not only places animals at risk but also discourages citizens who are acting responsibly and compassionately.

We respectfully urge your office to register an FIR, examine the evidence submitted, and ensure a thorough and impartial investigation. Strong and timely action is essential to protect animals, safeguard caregivers, and uphold the law.

Sincerely,
