Demand Justice for 103 Dogs Reportedly Crammed Into Two-Bedroom Home

Target: Leesa Manion, Prosecuting Attorney of King County, Washington.

Goal: Pursue a thorough investigation and, if warranted by evidence, seek maximum penalties, restitution, and a long-term animal-ownership ban for individuals who allegedly confined 103 dogs in overcrowded, unsanitary conditions inside a two-bedroom residence.

Neighbors and rescuers reportedly uncovered a heartbreaking scene: more than 100 small dogs—ultimately tallied at 103—surrendered from a two-bedroom home after an initial welfare check found over 50 animals inside. As reported, the cramped quarters and lack of proper sanitation created a situation described as one of the largest local rescues in recent memory. These dogs, many of them purportedly confined in tight spaces, were transferred to safety only after officials intervened.

Follow-up accounts indicate the animals were kept in conditions that posed significant health risks associated with overcrowding—stress, disease exposure, and untreated needs among them. While every animal has now reportedly been accounted for, survivors are still dependent on emergency veterinary care and foster placement, all of which impose substantial costs on shelters and community volunteers.

Accountability matters. If investigators confirm that animals were denied basic care and crammed into a dangerously overcrowded environment, those responsible should face meaningful consequences. This petition urges the prosecuting authority to pursue all appropriate charges, seek restitution for rescue and medical expenses, require counseling and monitoring typical in alleged hoarding-type cases, and pursue a strict, long-term prohibition on animal ownership upon conviction. Humane laws exist to prevent exactly this kind of reported suffering; they must be enforced.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prosecuting Attorney Manion,

We are deeply concerned by reports that 103 dogs were removed from a two-bedroom residence where they were kept in overcrowded, unsanitary conditions. Accounts describe an initial discovery of more than 50 animals and a final surrender of over 100, suggesting a prolonged and reportedly dangerous level of confinement.

Such circumstances—if substantiated—expose animals to preventable suffering, including disease, injury, and extreme stress. The burden now falls on local rescuers and veterinary teams to stabilize, treat, and rehome these dogs. This community effort deserves the support of a justice response that both addresses the alleged cruelty and helps prevent recurrence.

We respectfully ask your office to conduct a full and transparent review and, if the evidence supports it, seek all appropriate charges and meaningful penalties. Specifically, we urge you to request restitution for medical and care costs, court-ordered counseling and compliance checks typical in alleged hoarding cases, and a long-term ban on animal ownership upon conviction. Robust enforcement not only delivers justice for these dogs but also deters future neglect.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
