Target: Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State
Goal: Stand against risky and illegal plan to remove millions of people from homes for massive, costly resort.
“We’re going to take it.” This was the simple and chilling message the U.S. president had for his widely condemned plan to seize ownership of the Gaza Strip: home to two million displaced human beings. In regard to those human beings, the president hinted they would be forcibly relocated to other countries with no option to return: a suggestion the United Nations designated as “tantamount to ethnic cleansing.” And in order to secure these planned new “homes” for Gaza residents, the president has threatened nations that have categorically rejected the proposal to take in these millions of refugees.
The president’s audacious plan is deeply inhumane, dangerous, and a complete refutation of his claims of “America First.” Most crucially, it would rip away homes and communities from a people with generations of roots in this region, all in the name of establishing the “Riviera of the Middle East.” And the planned development and relocation would cost untold amounts of money at a time when the president is supposedly emphasizing focusing money on domestic investments while slashing spending. Furthermore, this proposed land grab would jeopardize an already-fragile ceasefire established in the region and generate even more ill will (and terrorism) against the United States and its regional allies.
Sign the petition below to demand the country’s top ambassador stop this runaway train before it runs off the rails.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Secretary of State Rubio,
How would you feel if someone announced they were taking the land cherished by you and your family over generations in order to build a resort? And how would you feel if that same someone demanded you leave your homeland behind because you were in the way? The President of the United States, Land of the Free, is thrusting this nightmare scenario upon two million people who have already lost so much.
Moreover, he is proposing his vision of owning a new “Riviera” on the dime of the American people and on the dime of a nation already trillions of dollars in debt. And adding to this price, the grand “Riviera” would present one of the greatest security risks in the world and likely raise the risk exponentially for another global conflict. Good sense and humanity must prevail.
Do not lend support to the president’s “no right of return,” disaster-in-waiting, and anti-American plans for Gaza.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]
