Target: Nicole W. Ziccarelli, District Attorney of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania
Goal: Ensure a thorough investigation and seek legal action against the person or persons responsible for the brutal killing of Tone, a 2-year-old pit bull.
A tragic case of alleged animal cruelty has emerged in West Newton, Pennsylvania, where a family’s missing dog, Tone, was found dead in what appears to be a brutal and torturous crime. The almost 2-year-old white and grey pit bull went missing on August 22 after being let outside his home on Turkeytown Road. Just three days later, Tone was found dead outside a neighbor’s house, prompting an outcry from the community and animal welfare advocates.
According to Hannah Novak, a board member of the local animal rescue All But Furgotten, a necropsy determined that foul play was involved in Tone’s death. Described as a gentle giant and a loving companion, Tone’s death has been a devastating loss for his family. The nature of his death, characterized by extreme cruelty, has sparked demands for justice from the community and beyond.
Volunteer humane police officers are currently investigating the case, and the necropsy report has been handed over to the Pennsylvania State Police. It is crucial that the District Attorney of Westmoreland County ensures a thorough investigation and prosecution of those responsible for this heinous act. Send a clear message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear DA Nicole W. Ziccarelli,
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent case of alleged animal cruelty involving a 2-year-old pit bull named Tone, who was found dead in West Newton, Pennsylvania. According to reports from the local animal rescue, All But Furgotten, Tone went missing on August 22, and just three days later, he was found dead outside a neighbor’s house. A necropsy has since determined that foul play was involved, indicating that Tone’s death was the result of a brutal and torturous act.
This case represents a severe violation of animal welfare and has left the community in shock and mourning. Tone was described as a gentle giant, a loving companion who did not deserve to meet such a tragic end. The cruelty and violence inflicted upon him are unacceptable, and it is imperative that those responsible are held accountable under the law.
I urge you to take immediate and decisive action to ensure a thorough investigation into this incident and to prosecute the person or persons responsible for this crime to the fullest extent of the law. It is essential that the legal system reflects society’s commitment to protecting animals from harm and that strong measures are in place to prevent such cruelty in the future. By pursuing justice for Tone, we can honor his life and send a clear message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

The SOB should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the
Law. Laws must be enforced to protect our animals! He better hope I never run into him!
Tone went out in his own bak yard? He was taken away and murdered? It must be dire as you don’t mention what happened to Tone. I, and most of the people writing using this avenue of complaint, am tired of animal abuse increasing. I feel this was done by teens with for their pleasure or to hurt the family. I ope an investigation will continue and the perp. found. Our legal system is broken. Kids do horrible things to animals for videos. We raising mentally troubled kids. This is the same basic crime but if this keeps getting to be more of a problem then those doing the harm and those who do not push for a trial and prison are both criminals. We tax payers don’t want to pay for kids belonging to others. We also don’t want to pay the salaries of those do nothing lawyers or politicians. If kids kill then they must pay for what they did, and pay harshly! I am sorry for the family and their loss.
I would look to the local police officers, because I have been signing a lot of petitions where a brutal cop has shot an innocent family dog. It seems to happen a lot. Maybe thugs want to be cops to get their hands on a gun and kill dogs for fun, knowing that the police department will always protect the rougue cop. Investigations should start there! Here in the UK the police do not issue guns to ordinary officers, thank goodness.
It appears that there is an upsurge in animal abuse worldwide with heinous atrocities being inflicted onto many dogs and cats, but no animal is safe so its time the justice systems started taking animal abuse, animal cruelty and animal MURDER seriously and started giving PROPER punishment instead of a ‘slap on the wrist’
