Call for Safety Measures to Save Dogs From Fatal Falls

Target: Lesley Griffiths, Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs, Welsh Government

Goal: Implement safety barriers and signs at Torrent Walk to prevent further accidents involving pets and wildlife.

A recent incident at Torrent Walk in Dolgellau, Gwynedd, has raised concerns about safety measures at popular beauty spots. The Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team was called to the scene where three dogs had fallen into a ravine. Two dogs were successfully rescued and reunited with their owners, but a third dog tragically did not survive.

The event highlights the need for enhanced safety measures at Torrent Walk to protect pets and wildlife. Installing barriers and warning signs could help prevent such accidents and ensure the safety of visitors and their pets.

Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team’s efforts underscore the importance of swift response in emergencies, but proactive measures are essential to prevent these tragedies from occurring. Raising awareness about the dangers in these areas and providing clear guidance to pet owners and visitors can save lives. Take immediate action.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Minister Lesley Griffiths,

I am writing to express concern over a recent incident at Torrent Walk, Dolgellau, where a dog tragically died after falling into a ravine. This sad event highlights the urgent need for safety measures at this popular beauty spot to protect pets and wildlife.

While the Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team successfully rescued two other dogs that had fallen into the ravine, losing the third dog has brought to light the potential dangers in the area. I urge you to consider installing barriers and warning signs along the path to prevent such accidents from happening in the future.

Proactive measures like these would protect pets and wildlife and ensure the safety of visitors who come to enjoy the area’s natural beauty. The community and animal lovers would greatly appreciate your intervention in this matter.

Sincerely,

  1. This is STUPID!!!
We put hand rails in place, bridges, and all manner of safety guards but this place is void of common sense ways to protect both wagers and animals? Do something!
