Goal: Advocate for increasing protections for the bighorn sheep by regulating hunting practices and reducing habitat loss.
The bighorn sheep is an iconic species that is native to North America, including in the United States. Unfortunately, the bighorn sheep is facing numerous threats to its survival, including habitat loss due to human activities such as mining, logging, and development, as well as hunting for sport and trophy hunting. Without immediate action the bighorn sheep could become extinct in the near future, which would have significant ecological, cultural, and economic impacts on North America.
To protect the bighorn sheep, we need to address the root causes of habitat loss and hunting. We also need to implement measures to reduce human-wildlife conflict, such as public education and outreach. Finally, we need to support scientific research and monitoring to better understand the needs of the bighorn sheep and its habitat.
Through habitat protection and management, human-wildlife conflict reduction, and scientific research and monitoring, we can protect the bighorn sheep and its habitat. Demand Secretary Haaland take action and support these efforts.

Why in the hell does every leader of every federal agent need to be petitioned to do his/her job when it entails protection of wildlife, marine life and land that belongs to the American citizens/taxpayers? It seems that they just bumble along letting people do as they please on Americans’ land and kill the animals to the point of extinction!
It is because every and anyone in the position to actually make a “positive” change is too busy “shmoozing” with Republican (mostly) politicians who lign their pockets from the NRA and other gun rights toting individuals who are nothing that resembles anything truly ‘Patriotic’ in this country, based upon on the legal/illegal wildlife hunting for sport that is going on in this country and all of the public mass and school shootings. No one cares until they care, if it hits close to home or home, maybe they might.

In Africa they have hired guns to gun down Poachers on the spot. Why don’t they handle hunters like this everywhere with the world situation in the crisis that it’s in??? Seriously!! I must agree with Terry. A unique idea to gun down these supposed hunters. Or maybe we need to call them by their correct name which is POACHERS! We want to preserve the big horn sheep and all animals. But they are being slaughtered by poachers in all countries and also governments who don’t care either. I feel animals are just the same as humans, except humans are the rejects of the animals kingdom. Wolves are being slaughtered, Bison are being culled, slaughtered on our public lands, ie. Yellowstone. Humans have no regard for others only themselves. Harsh but true. we won’t get through the climate crises without wildlife and animals.We need bees, birds, bats, and even insects. We are fools to listen to politicians as they lie like rugs! In America corporations, industry, and others are given attention but we do nothing to help those who can not help themselves. It’s sickening.

Stupid hunters are nothing but cowardly murderers of innocent animals. If they want sport, then they should hunt each other!! All animals deserve protection.
It is disturbing that we have to Petition Politicians about issues that are common sense issues. It is the same scenario decade after decade. Politicians travel around the Country to do meet and greets to win over public votes and then when elected they then ignore what the American people want and focus on what big business wants.
