Target: Andrew Wheeler, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency
Goal: Enforce stricter regulations relating to private jets to stop celebrities from emitting tons of dangerous carbon into the atmosphere.
Kylie Jenner has recently been facing backlash for taking 17-minute flights in her private jet simply to avoid LA traffic. In the midst of mounting concerns over the climate crisis—including a series of wildfires which threatened hers and her sister’s California homes—Jenner’s total disregard for our dying planet is quite despicable. Private jets typically produce significantly more emissions per passenger than even commercial flights. And, the trip by car, which would have taken about 40 minutes, would have caused only a fraction of the carbon emissions altogether.
The unfortunate truth is that Kylie Jenner is not the only celebrity to do this. In the past few months, celebrities like Drake, Kenny Chesney, and Mark Wahlberg have also all been called out for taking trips on their private jets to nearby locations that lasted under 30-minutes. This excess consumption is what threatened our planet in the first place, and now celebrities are continuing putting the greater public at risk for their self-serving agendas.
Demand stricter regulations on elitist private jet rides and help curb the catastrophic effects these often unnecessary emissions have on our environment.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Administrator Wheeler,
While the greater public has been adjusting their lifestyles to deal with the mounting pressure of the climate change crisis, many celebrities with access to unlimited finances and resources are carrying on with their lavish lives, totally unaffected by the crisis at hand. Kylie Jenner, for example, has faced tons of backlash for taking a 17-minute flight in her private jet simply to avoid LA traffic. The trip, by car, would have only taken her 40 minutes and would have caused only a fraction of the emissions that the private jet did.
Unfortunately, Jenner is not alone. In the past couple of months, celebrities like Drake, Kenny Chesney, and Mark Wahlberg also have all been called out for taking their private jets on flights under 30-minutes, while numerous others regularly take short trips, treating their private jets like they are cars. Our environment cannot withstand this greed for much longer.
We are asking you, Mr. Wheeler, to enforce stricter regulations on private jet rides and help encourage America’s elite to quit unnecessarily polluting the environment.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

The EPA Administrator is not Andrew Wheeler, but Michael Regan. I signed the petition already, but it would be useful to change that.
