Success: Trump Barred From Blocking Critics on Twitter

Target: William Barr, United States Attorney General

Goal: Thank the Justice Department for the decision to outlaw President Trump from blocking his critics on Twitter.

A New York federals appeal court has officially banned President Trump from blocking his critics on Twitter, declaring such behavior in violation of the First Amendment. Judge Barrington Parker has stated that Trump “has chosen a platform and opened up its interactive space to millions of users and participants,” meaning he has opened himself up to whatever other users may have to say.

Trump has been a known enemy of free press and speech since day one, from providing hush money to former mistresses and employees who may damage his reputation to accusing media outlets of “fake news” when they dared to point out the glaring flaws in his policies. The problem has led to the circulation of petitions such as this one. Finally, a major component of his war on free press has officially been shut down.

When a public figure makes themselves known on a public forum, they leave themselves open to criticism and disagreements. Trump’s efforts to protect himself from such things have been selfish and hypocritical, and it is about time the courts ruled against them. Sign this petition to thank the Justice Department for making this possible.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Attorney General Barr,

The United States would like to thank you and the Department of Justice for aiding in a federal court’s decision to bar Trump from blocking his critics on Twitter. Trump’s desire to filter out any negative views about his presidency has been a major component of his general war on free speech, alongside accusing media outlets of stating “fake news” and paying former mistresses and employees to keep quiet about past dealings with him.

Twitter is a major social media platform, highly publicized. The only way to avoid criticism is to lock your account to friends and loved ones only, which Trump has not done; therefore, he has opened himself to criticism and negative comments. He should not be allowed to shield himself from reality any more than the rest of society. Thank you for ensuring he cannot silence his critics.

Sincerely,

He is a public servant that uses Twitter to post official White House news that the public has a right to know. He cannot be above or circumvent the rules that everyone else plays by.

  2. Thank you Justice Department for telling the most narcissistic person in government that if you dish out then you have receive. This is just how social media works. A debate was never meant for one person. It’s probably time that he starts to listen anyway.

  3. Tara Souther says:

And yet, Frederica Wilson wants to have critics of Congress arrested. Interesting, isn’t it?

  4. Thank the Justice Department for the decision to outlaw President Trump from blocking his critics on Twitter.

Trump must be impeached asap before he destroys all the Laws that the American people have fought so hard for.
