Clark County Animal Protection officers, accompanied by sheriff’s deputies, executed an emergency seizure warrant after receiving multiple complaints about the horses’ condition. Investigators reportedly found five horses confined in a dry lot without visible forage, supplemental feed, or clean drinking water. Veterinary specialists apparently documented severe emaciation affecting multiple animals. Two horses reportedly suffered from open saddle sores, pronounced muscle wasting, and severely overgrown hooves that had impaired their ability to walk comfortably. Authorities removed the horses from the property and transported them to a specialized equine rescue facility, where they began receiving hydration therapy, nutritional rehabilitation, hoof care, and veterinary treatment. The property owner was detained and issued multiple criminal citations.
Denying horses access to life’s most basic necessities during extreme desert temperatures reflects a profound disregard for their welfare. Working animals depend entirely on their caregivers for food, water, shelter, and medical attention. If these allegations are proven true, full prosecution must follow.
